“Yeah?” she replied.

“You’ll find a nice guy who’ll love and treat you the way you deserve.”

Warmth spread through her. “Thanks for that, Domick. Goodnight.”

She pushed up from the chair, grabbed her cell off the table, then bent down to pick up her shoes, and shuffled out of the kitchen.

After washing up, putting on her favorite pajamas, and setting the alarm on her cell, she slipped between the fresh sheets, piled both pillows together, and tugged the covers up to her chin.

Faint moonlight seeped through the slats of the shutters. Angie closed her heavy lids, and for whatever reason, an image of the black-haired man at the restaurant popped into her mind. Her eyes snapped open, and she stared up at the ceiling.

What the hell?

There was no doubt that the guy was drool-worthy with those sexy eyes, broad shoulders, and some fine muscles on his tall frame.

“But he was with a woman—probably his girlfriend,” she said under her breath. And the fact that he’d stopped at Angie’s table and stared at her was a huge red flag. “Been there, done that.”

Besides, she wasn’t interested in dating or getting involved with anyone, not even a drop-dead gorgeous guy who exuded danger and raw sex.

She propped herself up on one elbow and fluffed up the pillows with her hand before sinking back into the mattress. Tucked under the covers again, she tossed and turned for several minutes before slowly drifting off to sleep.
