My core tightened as pleasure rolled through me, and I bit the inside of my cheek to prevent me from crying out until I tasted copper. Goddamnit, she really had me all kinds of twisted. I pulled my fingers away, letting the now lukewarm water drownmy arousal, drowning it from my memory. My fingers brushed through my wet hair as I looked up to the heavens. I knew Olivia was up there wondering what the fuck I was doing because she would want me to be happy, but I didn’t know what happiness felt like being here alone.
I hit the wall with my balled fist, feeling my knuckles tingle from the force. A sigh fell from my lips as I shut off the water and stepped out into a cloud of steam. I wrapped my hair in a towel and dried my red skin before walking into my bedroom, naked.
I grumbled when I saw Hunter laying across my bed, her boot-clad feet kicking back and forth in the air like a child. Her eyes lingered on my wet tits before going down to my pussy and licking her lips.
“Why the hell are you in here?”
“It’s been a week. I want to know how it was.”
I scrunched the towel in my hair, ignoring her gaze. “Why are you so concerned with my sex life?”
She’d be the first person I’d tell, but she’d boast and tell me she was right. I didn’t need that right now. “So it was that good, huh?”
I rolled my eyes. “She was a perfect little submissive. I fucked her until her pussy was raw and used. She screamed my name. It was good, and will not be happening again.”
“Blaize, you literally haven’t done anything like that in years. Even when you fucked Kala. You basically beat the sit out of her with a flogger before making her come a couple times. This was different.”
“No. It’s not,” I forced out.
“I know you. You just need to suck it up and admit that you have feelings for Kadence. It’s okay to find love again after a loss.”
“Enough,” I snapped. “What happened between us was a one-time thing. It will never happen again. I got what I needed, and so did she.”
“Yes, ma’am.” Kadence was making my head go haywire. I shouldn’t have caved, but there was no going back now. “Did you find anything on her?”
“There’s no record of a Kadence Hayes in Manhattan. I’ll check reports to see if I can make any connections, but we’re dealing with a ghost,” she informed me as she slowly walked towards the door. “Normally, when dealing with ghosts, the person wants to stay that way. Kadence is a sweet kid. Don’t do something you’ll regret.”
She walked out of my room, leaving me dumbfounded. Since when did she grow a conscience? I let out a long sigh, rubbing my temples. It seemed Kadence had everyone in my town in a chokehold, and I didn’t want anyone getting hurt because of her.
My phone chimed, echoing through the silence of the room. His text was simple, but I knew with the bullshit going on, something happened. I grabbed my knife, adjusting it in my ankle holster and running out of my club to my Harley. What the fuck did this psycho do now?
CHAPTER 53
BLAIZE
Embers of orange and red lit up the night sky as our drug shipment burned to nothing. Thousands of dollars’ worth of cocaine—gone in an instant. I didn’t understand who the fuck kept messing with my shit.
The dirt I had on the police captain prevented this little unfortunate incident from going to the DEA, and instead was written off as an accidental explosion instead of the obvious arson. I didn’t need the feds attempting a drug bust in my club and scaring my customers, when the strongest thing in there was Everclear.
I could get away with murder if I needed to kill someone. Killing federal agents sounded easy enough; unfortunately, the repercussions of doing so wouldn't be pretty. If I was tired of one poking around, I wouldn’t enjoy a SWAT team. I did unfortunately need the police’s help since someone was obviously out to destroy me.
Kala crossed her arms as she talked to Hawke, gathering any information he might know, before she turned her attention to me. “This has to be the fallout from what you did five years ago.”
“No shit,” I barked, biting back harsher words. The two of us have always butted heads, and I was sure she was pissed that Iwouldn’t fuck her again. She caught feelings when I told her I was using her to mend my broken heart.
She rolled her eyes. “You are the one who murdered Elijah West in cold blood, not me.”
“I did what you should have, Kala. Stop being an obsessive bitch and do your fucking job by finding out who the fuck is torching my shit.”
She grumbled, uncrossing her arms and pulling out her notepad. Obsessive woman really were not my fucking type. Touching her was a lapse of judgment. One drunken mistake while mourning my dead wife. Turned out the bitch was a pain slut, and I dished out everything that she loved, causing her to want more. Her body only quivered from maybe two orgasms, but I let my rage out on her milky white skin, turning it a dark red, marred with welts from my flogger. I couldn’t even remember if I did aftercare or not with her since that night didn’t exist to me anymore.
“We’ll keep an undercover here to patrol at night and report any suspicious activity to Hawke.”
“Sounds good.” Kala stormed off, leaving a trail of smoke behind her, and Hawke looked at me smirking.
“You love the crazies, don’t you?”
“Leave me alone, Hawke. That was a mistake.”
