“Yes, just wait, we’ll find a clue soon, I’m sure of it.”

“I hope you’re right, yeti.”

“I usually am.” His cockiness makes me laugh, but I hope he’s right this time, too.

CHAPTER TWENTY

PENNY

As Braxton and I walk hand in hand to dinner, I can’t help but appreciate how good he looks right now. He’s dressed more formally than usual with a white tunic that hugs his body perfectly, showing off his bulging muscles. His black pants give him a more formal look and his hair looks styled for the first time since I’ve seen him. I like his usually messy short brown hair, but he looks nice dressed up too.

“You look really handsome today, by the way. I mean, you always do, but you’re more dressed up today, you look nice,” I tell him awkwardly.

He gives me a warm smile. “And you look radiant today, my love.” My cheeks heat as I bite my lip and watch as he leads me through town and around the back of a restaurant.

“What are we—Oh!” My thoughts are cut off as we round the building to find not just Ryker, but Indy, Silver and a handful of men I recognize from the tavern. I glance around and see strings of lights above us. How did they have that if there was no electricity here? Were they magic?

Brax sees me staring at them and says, “They’re firebugs in jars. They’ll be released at the end of the night.”

“It’s beautiful,” I tell him honestly. My eyes move to take inthe rest of the space. There are no tables, just rows of chairs, all facing Ryker, who stands under an arch of flowers.

“Holy smokes, is this a wedding?”

Brax laughs before answering, “Yes, Baby Girl, it’sourwedding.”

Oh. My. God.I can’t believe this is happening so fast, aren't there things I have to plan and prepare? Then again, I didn’t know this world, and I had nobody else here to witness this, except maybe Ria, somewhere, but I couldn’t stop my life from happening while I searched for her. I knew she’d understand, just like I would expect her to live her life to the fullest without me. I turn my wide, excited eyes up to Brax. “We’re getting married… like, right now?”

“Yes, if you’re okay with that. Ryker and I decided we couldn’t wait any longer to make you officially ours. You aren’t upset, are you?”

“Upset? God no! I’m thrilled!”

He beams at me as Indy walks over to us.

“Sugar, I wanted to request the honor of walking you down the aisle.” He looks a little nervous as he stands tall in front of me, offering his elbow.

“Indy, that would be perfect, thank you.” Brax kisses my cheek and goes to join Ryker as all the other men take seats. Silver comes over and offers me a beautiful bouquet full of orange and green flowers.

“These are for you, Penny. And I hope you don’t mind, but I’ll be the one marrying you. I have all the paperwork to make it official once you all sign it, you won’t have to do anything but sayI do.”

Wow, this man was so thoughtful, I would never have thought of having to register the wedding.

“Thank you Silver, these are beautiful and I really appreciate your help with everything.” This wasn’t the first time he helped us,and I had a feeling it wouldn’t be the last. He nods his head and moves to stand under the arch with my two fiancés.

“You ready, Sugar?” Indy asks, looking down at me as we stand at the end of the aisle. Ryker is dressed in the same outfit as Brax and they make a truly stunning sight. I can’t believe I get to keep them both.

“Ready,” I say as I stand up tall and roll my shoulders back.

I hear soft music playing and see one of Silver’s friends playing a violin off to the side. As I walk down the aisle, clinging to Indy with my two mates and Silver in front of me, I don’t think I’ve ever felt so happy in my life.

The rest of the wedding is almost a blur. The three of us exchanged heartfelt words and the moment Silver pronounces us men and wife, Ryker surges forward for a kiss. He is abruptly cut off when Brax decides it’s his turn. And when he’s done, he scoops me up, throwing me over his shoulder as he stomps down the aisle, Ryker hot on his heels.

“Braxton, put me down!” I tell him with fake outrage. I secretly love when he goes all caveman on me, but feel like I have to save face in front of all these people. The rest of the guests just cheer loudly, hooting and hollering while Braxton storms away like a man on a mission.

“Ryker? Where are we going? Aren’t we supposed to celebrate with our wedding guests?” I ask, tilting my head to see him behind us.

“Maybe that’s how it worked in your old world, Red, but in this one, we have a very strong need to consummate this marriage the moment we can.”

“Oh.”
