The girls race down the stairs as Dad and I follow them, and I can hear their excitement as their feet carry them away from us.

“You’ll be lucky if they agree to leave, Bentley.”

“Meh, it doesn’t bother me. I’ve missed the hell out of them.”

My father is quiet as we walk, and I watch as my sisters take the snack I left for them to use to feed my cows. Carla and Trish are happy to see them, and I open the paddock so they can go inside.

“The hay is clean. Get your snuggles in while you can. Tav made a feast, and that includes several different kinds of cookies.”

“He didn’t need to make a fuss for us,” Dad murmurs, frowning as he glances back at the house.

“He knows and did it anyway. It’s my birthday, you just get to enjoy the fuss he’s making over the day I was born. You know, the best day.”

“Hey!” Laura hisses in annoyance, trying not to startle my cows.

I make a face at her because I can’t help myself, and my father rolls his eyes.

“The four of you are a handful,” he grumbles. “He didn’t come outside. Is he okay?”

“He had a spill and wanted to take care of it while I showed you the property.” I mean, technically, that’s not really a lie.

Dad glances at my boots, his lips twitching as if he can see the cum on them.

“So that’s what we’re calling it. Good to know.”

I cover up my laughter with a cough, refusing to answer my sisters’ questions as they ask if I’m alright. By the time we walk back to the house, Tav’s aired out the kitchen and living room so it no longer smells like sex, and the table is set.

“Tav, these are my sisters. I know you’ve talked to them on video chats, but they really are more annoying in person.”

“Whatever, you know we’re the best sisters in the world,” Margie says, shrugging. “Hi, Tav. The house looks and smells amazing. Look at all of these cookies!”

“I didn’t know what you liked,” he admits, blushing.

Have I mentioned how adorable he is? Tav pushes his glasses up his nose as he says hello to everyone, and my sisters leap into action to help him get the food on the table. They chatter the entire time, keeping the burden of conversation off of him. I watch as he attempts to keep up with the variety of topics, and he finally gives up so he can enjoy the ride.

I don’t really blame him, they’re chaos on a good day.

“This is so good, Tav,” Hazel says, her face relaxing as she chews slowly, enjoying herself. “Bentley, you’re never going to go hungry. I’ve been kind of concerned since you could burn water.”

“Rude! That’s so not true,” I protest. “I simply enjoy takeout more. It’s less to clean.”

Tav hides a smile as he eats, and Laura rolls her eyes. “Oh yeah. He places a mean order of coffee and bagels.”

The house is full of laughter and teasing as we eat, and the girls insist on cleaning up. Tav doesn’t seem to know what todo as he sits on the couch with my father and I, and I decide to distract him.

Otherwise, he might combust wondering if the girls are cleaning properly. I could tell him my sisters are well equipped to scrub a kitchen within an inch of its life, but I doubt it’ll help.

“Tav, honey,” I murmur, tearing his attention back. “Thank you for the best birthday present ever.”

“I wish I was creative enough to do more,” he grumbles. “What’s in your hand? Wait, what the fuck, Bentley? Why are you on your knees!”

“As you know, I always get what I want,” I drawl, waiting for him to focus on me completely. “From busking loudly in front of your store to abandoning my guitar for you to baby sit, I slowly wore down your walls.”

The water cuts off as my sisters pretend not to be listening, but eavesdropping should be a part of their educational experience. They’ve been doing it since they were old enough to understand what they were listening to.

“You’re one of the most loving people I’ve ever met, and I love you so much.”

Opening the box, I show off the gray titanium ring that’s inside of it. Tav isn’t one for flashy jewelry, so instead, I put a tracker in his ring and engraved the inside of it with the date we officially met. I’ll be his stalker and alpha until the day I die.
