“It was the only way they were going to book with me. The wedding is in a month.” I could feel her stare burning holes into me.

“A month? Really?”

Caroline and Harper both started laughing in unison.

“I didn’t know what else to do,” I confessed.

“You owe me for this one, Sawyer.” She smiled quickly. “But I will figure something out.”

“Seriously? You’re not mad?”

She waved me off. “It’ll only be a few hours out of my day, and what else are friends for? That said, you do have to come to the meeting with them when I set it up. I am not dealing with a crazy bride alone.”

“I could kiss you!” I exclaimed before finishing my drink.

“Waylon might like to see that.” She turned and winked at her fiancé as he brought us another round of drinks without having to be prompted.

“Having you run this joint has really made it easy on us.” Harper smiled at the bar owner as he bowed his head.

“Gotta take care of our best customers,” he tossed back before leaving us again.

“So, Harper, how is the house coming along?” Caroline asked.

Her face lit up. “It’s almost done. How about a girls’ night on Friday to break that baby in?”

I clapped with glee. “I love girls’ nights! I’m in!”

“Won’t Rhett want to help you christen the house?” Annabelle teased.

Harper frowned. “He’s going to be helping his sister and brother-in-law move, so I’ll be all alone for the first weekend it’s ready.”

Caroline bounced a little. “That means sleepover!”

“That it does, girls. That it does.” Harper raised her glass. “To new beginnings and sleepovers.”

We all cheered, “Hear, hear!”
