He must be able to read my face because the smirk he gives me is sinister. And then he spanks me again. I let out a gasp that turns into a moan.

Before my next breath, he’s shoving his cock inside of me with such force that I lurch forward. His hands land on my hips and he holds me steadily, pulling me back every time he fills me.

The way he fucks me this time is different. It’s filled with something brutal, something rough, something I never knew I would crave but unlocks a part of me I didn’t know was there. I move my hips to push back against him, loving the way he fills me and hits the end of my channel. The sensation makes my skin tingle.

His balls slap against my clit and I can feel my orgasm coiling in my gut. It’s going to undo me when it breaks. I just know it.

“You’re taking my cock so well,” he groans, his fingers flex on my hips and dig into me harder.

If he leaves bruises on my skin, I already know I’ll study them in the mirror later with a smile on my face. I throw my head back, my hair flying in all directions, moans falling from my lips and rising in pitch as he fucks me harder and faster.

He pushes me closer and closer to the edge and without warning I’m teetering on it. I don’t know what I need, but I need a little bit more.

“You’re going to coat my dick with your sweet release,” he grunts, his words almost garbled. “Come, now,” he barks out his command and spanks me at the same time.

It’s just what I need. Stars dance across my vision and my arms give out, my shoulders meet the bed as he holds me in place and plows into me as my orgasm breaks. All I can feel is pleasure. All I can feel is the way his cock slides in and out of me as he fucks me right through it as my body locks up.

Then he slams inside of me, filling me completely. He roars out my name as his cock swells and he comes. I feel every jet of his cum as he follows after me, his grip tightening on me while air saws in and out of his lungs.

We’re sweaty. We’re messy.

It’s fucking perfect.

He flops onto the bed next to me, pulling me along with him as our hearts race and find a new rhythm together. I’m panting as he slips free of me and I turn toward him.

We reach for each other at the same time while a smile that is pure joy stretches across his face. He brushes some of my hair back and away from my forehead. I can see love in his eyes as he studies me.

“Now,” his voice rough, “tell me your vision and how I can help.”

That’s exactly what I do and then we spend most of the day in bed, reaching for each other and sharing our hopes and dreams in between.

Maybe I won’t be making it into Green Mountain High today after all. Surprisingly, I’m more than okay with it.

CHAPTER 14

ROOK

I keep glancing over at my wife. My wife. It’s hard to concentrate with her next to me in my truck while the scent of vanilla and sugar surrounds me. From the way she’s wringing her hands together, I know she’s nervous. But this is something we have to do.

Not only does my grandfather’s lawyer need to know about our marriage, but I want to make sure she’s always protected and there can be no question about who inherits from me. The last thing I want to think about is my father doing something to me, but I can’t ignore it as a possibility.

He’s a greedy fucker and now that he knows he won’t be getting the farm, he’ll be desperate. He got so close to having it all and now he won’t getit. People do stupid things on their best day, but when they feel cornered and like something is stolen from them? I shudder slightly as I force my eyes back to the road.

There’s silence between us, both of us lost in our own heads, until I’m leading her toward the office. Her eyes are glancing around like she’s expecting someone to jump out from behind a corner and accuse us of something. But she doesn’t need to worry.

I stop a few feet from the lawyer’s door, wanting and needing to put her mind at ease. My hands grip her shoulders, and I turn my Wildflower toward me. My eyes are keen as I study her face. Her worry is clear to see, and it makes my chest ache.

“You don’t need to be worried about this meeting, Meadow,” I assure her. “We’re simply here to inform him about our marriage and I need to sign some papers that have to do with my inheritance. At least the one I’m able to claim now.” I shrug one shoulder, the movement casual. “I’m also going to talk to him about a will for myself because the last thing I want to do is leave you vulnerable if something were to happen to me.”

“You know I wouldn’t let anything happen to the farm,” her voice is fierce, like she’s a warrior. “I don’t know how to run it, but I’m very good at hiring people and I would make sure no one can sell it off.”

I press my forehead against hers and take a deep breath. I didn’t even realize how much I needed to hear those words, to have her make such a promise, until right this moment. Something inside of me, something that has been knotted with worry, starts to ease.

While I won’t be able to relax until the farm is in my name, this is a start. Her willingness to protect my family’s legacy is a gift, one I won’t squander.

“I know you’d protect the farm,” I murmur the words softly.

I pull back just enough to look down into her eyes, and my hands come up and cup her face. My thumbs move back and forth over the apples of her cheeks. “Before we walk in there, you need to know something.” She swallows and nods slowly as if she’s bracing herself for my confession. Maybe she should. “It was never fake for me.”
