The men disappear inside. I switch cameras, tracking them through the shop's exotic decor. Incense burns, mingling with the humming equipment. I lick my lips in anticipation. The real show is about to start.

They gather in the backroom, eyeing each other uneasily. The tracker devices glint under the light—an ominous promise of what's to come. Their defiance wars with resignation. They don't like this, but they've got no choice.

One by one they step forward, nerves and submission etched on their faces as the little black cylinders are inserted by a bespectacled man wearing a white lab coat. To a layperson, he's a typical doctor trained in outpatient medical procedures like this one. Nobody needs to know he's my cousin, a traveling vet who was more than willing to do me a favor.

A few of Tane's henchmen give the small cylinders a strange look, but luckily, loyalty in this context means you don’t ask questions.

Marked. Owned. Controlled. Soon it will be complete.

Tane's lieutenant takes the lead, his jaw set in a hard line. "Let's move out. We've got our orders. And remember, our loyalty is now beyond doubt."

I zoom out, watching them head towards the exit. My eyes remain glued to the screen as the men file out of the back room, some rubbing their arms where the device was inserted. There's an uneasy energy in the air as they process what just transpired.

Most look pissed off, a few seem resigned. But none are happy about the items now embedded under their skin.

One man speaks up, frowning. “Those chips seemed kind of big, didn’t they? I thought they were only meant to be tiny things.”

Another of the guys shrugs. “Yeah, I suppose they are bigger than I thought they’d be. But it’s always state of the art stuff with Tane, remember? I bet these have features we can’t even imagine. We just need to go with it. Asking questions would just be our downfall..and you know Tane is just waiting to make an example of anyone who questions him these days.”

The others fall in line without argument, expressions ranging from stoic to simmering. I can tell the defiance in them hasn't been fully stamped out yet. Good—it will make breaking them all the sweeter. And, it will make Tane even more angry, which is just icing on the cake.

As theyexit the shop, their postures are rigid, their movements sharp and tactical. Tension radiates from them. They're on high alert now, wary of any other surprises coming their way.

My pulse quickens watching them on the monitors. I lick my lips again, already planning our next move. This test was just the beginning, a mere foreshock before the real earthquake hits.

We'll give them some time, let them get comfortable with those chips nestled under their skin. Then when they least expect it, we'll unleash the next exquisite torment. Something to truly test their loyalty and shake them to their core.

I smile darkly, thinking about what we could do next. The possibilities are deliciously endless when you don't play by the rules. I can hardly wait to see how far we can push them before they break.

Just as the last man exits, two strangers saunter in. Even through the grainy camera feed I can tell these guys are trouble. They move with a cocky swagger that sets my teeth on edge.

My pulse kicks up a notch. This wasn't part of the plan. I didn't think we needed to close the whole shop down to get this done, and I figured at worst we'd see a few hippie woo-woo types scouring the little woven baskets for their next chunk of rose quartz.

The men fan out, casually glancing at the weird assortment of crystals and incense around the shop. But their movements are too calculated, their eyes constantly scanning and assessing. These aren't mystical crystal enthusiasts.

Tane's lieutenant notices them immediately, his expression going hard. "Who the hell are you?" he barks out. "This is private business."

The taller stranger just smirks. "We're just browsing, friend. Crystals and whatnot." He gestures at the myriad crystals before him. "Didn't know we needed an invitation." His tone is relaxed but there's an unmistakable challenge in his words.

The shop owner tries to diffuse the situation but I can tell this is a powder keg ready to blow. One wrong move and this whole place could erupt into violence.

I debate whether to intervene, my muscles tensing. Whoever these guys are, they're not part of the plan. But, just as quickly, the tension recedes as the owner firmly escortsthe two men out. "This is a place for positive vibes, man. If you guys want to come in here, you need to be chill. And perhaps you could come back later when we're not already at maximum capacity, ya dig?"

The two men glance at each other, shrug, and walk off.

The shop owner remains chill on the surface as he watches them leave, but I notice his shoulders lower in relief that things have, in fact, remained copacetic.

Crisis averted, for now. But those strangers seemed way too interested in Tane's business. There's no way they stumbled into the store by accident. Something feels off. I take a screenshot when they're in clear view of the camera, and make a mental note to look into them later.

Excitement coils within me as Tane's men leave, the devices now embedded under their skin. Anticipation brews within me as I watch them exit the store and clamber into their sleek SUVs. They're probably wondering what the hell Tane has in store next, seeing now they think he's tracking them more closely than ever before.

I sit back, adrenaline still coursing through me as I review the footage. Seeing those hard, proud men forced to submit awakens something primal in me. Sitting here, conducting the situation as if I were commanding an orchestra, a puppet master pulling all the strings. Power is such an aphrodisiac.

This is far from over. I sense it in my bones, the darkness in me thrilled by the promise of what will happen next. I want to see it go down immediately, but of course it has to wait. Patience is the most difficult part of elaborate plans like this one.

A shiver runs down my spine at the thought. I live for this—the chase, the thrill. And I won't stop until Tane and his empire are ours.

Eyes glowing with anticipation, I can’t wait to tell Angel, my sweet depraved Valkyrie. We have plans to make, new ways to toy with our prey. There’s much still to do, and she's going to love every minute of it.
