I stroke her hair, basking in the afterglow of our intimacy. The night is still young, but for now we rest, our hearts and bodies sated. The secrets and desires we discovered tonight have only strengthened the bonds between us. This is what I have always craved: connection, trust, love.

So many people cling to me in an attempt to get closer, not to me, but to my fame. They long to be part of my entourage, many of them willing to sacrifice their bodies to me as tribute. It used to delight me, to fulfill my desires, but now it just leaves me hollow.

I didn't know I could ever reach those peaks of pleasure again that I enjoyed right at the start of my fame, when I was blissfully unaware of why lust and desire came so easily. I'm an attractive guy by conventional standards, sure, but I'd be an absolute idiot if I thought my looks were the reason women literally post their used panties to me in the mail.

But with Aria, it's different. She couldn't care less what I do when I'm not with her. She's supportive of my music career, sure, but in the same way someone might be supportive of an accountant or a mechanic—there to listen to the stories about my day, and asking about the moment she knows matter. Okay okay, I guess my job is a little more exciting than most, and she does enjoy being backstage at my concerts.

But it's the real me she sees inside, that she craves. That she would do anything for.

And I feel the same way about her. Aria, my stunning queen.

With Aria, I have finally found a home.

Chapter twenty-eight

Istand in the shadows, the glow of computer monitors barely illuminating the dark command center. My eyes scan the screens, digesting the intel displayed before me. Tane's network has been laid bare through surveillance footage and intercepted communications.

The tension in the air is palpable as my team gathers around, their faces etched with determination and focus. We're making significant progress, and it's almost time to strike.

I turn to face them, their eyes locked on me, awaiting my command. "Alright team, here's the situation. Tane's reach is vast, but he's not invulnerable."

I click a remote, bringing up a map on the central monitor. "What we've found over the last few days is communication lines here and here are lightly guarded." I gesture at two weak points on the map. "Surveillance indicates gaps in security shift changes near his downtown warehouse." I pause, and everyone nods. "What's come to my attention, however, is Tane is apparently extra paranoid at the moment. It's fairly understandable based on what we did to him on the other island, combined with the fact he's incredibly unhinged."

Angel cracks her knuckles, adrenaline already pumping through her veins.

Brick's stare darkens, his mind turning over the possibilities. "I love exploiting paranoia," he growls. "It's one of my favorite hobbies."

"Yes, exactly," I continue, my voice steady and commanding. "We need to use this information to insert ourselves seamlessly into his operations."

This is it. The moment we've trained for. Failure is not an option.Tane's empire will fall, and we will be the ones to topple it. I feel the weight of my team's trust, their lives in my hands. But I know they are ready. We all are.

Time to execute the plan. No turning back now. I take a deep breath and give the order. "Let's do this."

I nod to my team, their fierce determination mirroring my own. "You all know your roles." I glance at Brick. "You're sure you're ready for stage one?"

Brick grins, a twisted glint in his eyes. "Don't worry, I have my methods."

I know Brick's talents run dark, and we need that wicked edge. "Stay sharp and stick to the plan." I finish, looking at each of them. "Let's finish this once and for all."

They nod, determination etched on their faces.

The time has come to tear down Tane's empire, and it's now or never. The thought of failure is terrifying, but as I watch my team prepare, I know we're as ready as we're ever going to be. If all goes to plan, Tane won't see us coming until it's too late.

I take a deep breath as I look over the team, the weight of this mission settling on my shoulders. So much planning and preparation has led us here, to this pivotal moment. It's time to put our skills to the test.

I unfurl the building schematics across the central table, the team gathering around. "Here's the layout of Tane's headquarters. He has warehouses which are more vulnerable, but he's rarely there. Intel shows he keeps his private office on the top floor."

I point to the fortified location, our target for planting surveillance devices. "Access is restricted, so we'll need to stealthily bypass security."

Dom cracks a smile. "Leave that to me. We'll be ghosts."

I nod, knowing I can count on his skills. "Once inside, we split up. Skyler, your team heads to the server room to tap their network."

Skyler adjusts his glasses as he studies the map. "Just point me to the tech."

"Brick, take your team to sweep for any prisoners Tane may be keeping on site. See if you can get any intel out of them."

Brick pounds a fist into his palm. "Oh, they'lltalk."
