“Fisher Adams? Yeah. What about him?” She asks.
“I got the guys into the car, and he grabbed me before slamming me against the door. I kneed him in the dick and got into the car. He shouted at me, saying that I would regret it, but I just drove off.”
“He’s disgusting. Just because his dad is a sitting judge means that he gets away with everything. Rumors have been going around for years that he date rapes frequently. Apparently, he’s so good at it that you can’t even tell a lot of the time.”
“I looked away from my cup for what like… 5 seconds maybe? Admittedly, I should have known better. I guess I just didn’t expect it to actually happen to me.”
“I’m glad Zeke was watching. He saw Fisher talking to you. Him and Brett just watched and waited to see if he would try it. He had to get the cup away from you without openly calling him out. He will end up fighting people for calling him out, but the other person is always the one to get arrested. Everyone watches out for one another but he’s just creepy good at it.”
“So… obviously he isn’t raping people in the middle of the party. What does he do?”
“No idea,” she says. “They always wake up naked in some random place on campus though.”
“That’s terrifying,” I frown.
“Are you going to tell them?” she asks as I cook breakfast.
“Nothing to tell,” I say with a shrug. “I handled it.”
“People don’t generally fight back, so maybe he will stop,” she says.
I hear footsteps in the hallway and turn to see Zeke and Brett in the doorway to the kitchen. They look like they feel like shit but are also obviously confused. Kaylee and I laugh in unison.
“Water and headache medicine,” I say, pointing to the counter beside them.
“How did we get here?” Zeke asks after taking the medicine.
“I brought you here,” I laugh. “You two bozos went and made a fool of yourselves then wouldn’t tell me where you lived, so I brought you here.”
“Oh… oh, no,” Brett laughs. “I was hoping that was a dream.”
“It wasn’t,” Kaylee grins. “Wanna see a video?” She hands her phone to them, and they watch their performance with their mouths gaping.
“Christ…” Zeke says, handing the phone back.
“You two are admittedly adorable together when you are shit-faced,” I say as I plate food. I point to the table, and they go sit down while Kaylee helps me take plates to the table.
“I feel like I’ve been run over,” Brett says.
“That’s kinda how I felt last weekend,” I say nonchalantly. Kaylee giggles.
“I still am shocked that you have the piercings that you do,” Zeke laughs.
“Hey, I was there when you got those,” Kaylee says. “I’m too much of a chicken shit for that.”
We talk and laugh as we eat breakfast. When we get done, I go to my room and the guys follow me. “We need to talk,” I tell them. “Sit.”
“Alice,” Zeke starts to say. They look worried.
“Shush and sit down,” I say. They nod and sit on my bed like they’re ready to get scolded. “What are we doing here?”
“What do you mean?” Brett asks.
“I mean, I don’t do one-night stands. I don’t have friends with benefits. We have had sex twice and you two have slept here twice in the last week. I get attached to people easily and what you two did last night was the sweetest thing anyone has ever done,” I say. “So, I need to know what it is that you two want out of this. If it was just a couple of nights of fun, fine. Just be honest with me.”
“We’ve wanted you for a long time, Alice. This isn’t just about having fun for us,” Brett says. They both stand and approach me. Their presence makes me happy. I used to be annoyed and even hid from them, but after last night I wish I had called them out sooner.
“If you’ll have us, we want no one else but you,” Zeke says. He cups my chin, and he has a soft smile as he looks down at me.
