“It’s my understanding that you will sleep with anyone, so if there hasn’t been a large number of women not able to walk right, I think I’m safe,” I say with a smile.

“Wanna know something?” he asks as he takes my hands into his and flips it, so my palm is up.

“Sure,” I say as he runs his fingers tip across the creases of my hand.

“I took a palm reading class once,” he says. “Admittedly it was to be able to get laid by the instructor, but I learned a few things.”

“Oh?” I ask.

“Mhmm. So, this is your lifeline…” he runs his fingers along a crease on my palm and I smile. “When the lifeline is super long, some think it means that you’ll meet your soulmate in this lifetime. What do you notice about your lifeline?”

“I have two,” I say.

“Exactly,” he smiles at me. “I think the three of you are meant to be together. Maybe that’s sappy of me, but I’d like to think your parents found each other so you three could get closer.”

“Incoming,” Shauna laughs. Jared winks at me and I giggle again. He is intentionally pushing Declan and Darian.

“You just can’t fucking help yourself, can you, Jared?” Declan asks with clear anger in his tone.

“She doesn’t look taken to me, so she’s free game,” Jared shrugs.

“She is, so stop it,” Darian snaps at him.

“Then act like it,” Jared snaps.

“You two act like you own me,” I say. “Last time I checked, no one is out here acting like they own me. Words mean shit when all you’ve been doing is watch me from a distance.”

I gasp when Darian grabs the back of my neck and yanks me against his chest. “We do own you,” he growls. “No one gets to know what you feel like wrapped around their cock but us. Keep pushing us and everyone here will know what you sound like when you come for us.”

“You wouldn’t dare,” I laugh.

“Question us one more time,” he challenges me.

“You’d risk everyone seeing me naked?” I ask, grinning.

“Mia, I’d risk everything to be inside of you right now,” Darian says seriously.

“Then why are you still talking?” I ask.

“Take her somewhere else,” Jared laughs. “She doesn’t need someone recording it.”

Declan grabs my hand and pulls me along and we go behind the equipment shed. “Why do you have to be a brat?” Declan asks as he turns to face me.

“Why do you only want to pretend you want me when no one is around?” I ask. “If I didn’t know better, I’d say your two are acting like you’re ashamed of me.”

“That is not it and you damn well know it,” he frowns.

“If you don’t care what anyone thinks, including our parents, what’s stopping you from making it known? I’m not a toy, Declan.”

“Because we don’t want to cause you stress, Mia. Claiming it means people will know that you are our stepsister. We can handle the jokes and the teasing, but can you? Can you handle incest jokes and the hate? Can you reasonably handle someone you don’t know telling you that you’re going to hell for loving someone?”

“You love me?” I ask quietly.

“Yes, Mia,” he says, cupping my cheek. “We love you and we don’t want to see you hurtbecause of us.”

“I have spent my whole life hurting myself with complacency and made-up fear in my head. no one can match the damage that I’ve done to myself,” I say.

Declan smirks at me as he pulls the ties on my bikini bottoms. “Then think of this as us going public with our relationship, he says.
