"Your body is perfect," Roman replied in earnest. “Every part of you deserves to be honored and worshiped. Your strength and beauty are unmatched.” Roman couldn’t help himself; he was inundated with the desire to tell him everything he was thinking.

Alex laughed softly, his breath still labored and catching. He rolled his head to the side and looked back over his shoulder at Roman. "We will have to talk about this... soon... when I've recovered." He laughed again. "My thoughts are everywhere at the moment, and some don't seem to belong to me."

"We will talk, but the awareness that you are feeling will answer most of your questions and will reveal what you need to know. Just let it happen, don't resist, take the information as it comes. You're a smart man, you'll figure it all out." Roman knew the awareness would open his mind, and in time, he would have a clear understanding of the paranormal world he had stumbledinto. There was no need to answer the question right away unless, of course, they were pressing.

Roman pulled out slowly and turned Alex to face him. "You have a lot coming at you, Alex. Things are going to become clear that you never considered before. Ideas and realities that were outrageous will become real and understood." He knew he wasn't making complete sense, but Alex was nodding, so something he was saying was hitting the mark.

He pulled up Alex's pajama pants and tucked his lovely cock inside, then straightened his top and ran his fingers through his hair. Alex was a little blitzed, and that was understandable. He would take care of his beloved now and always. Alex looked up at him, his eyes traveling his face over and over.

"You're a vampire." He said as if commenting on the weather, no judgment, just fact.

"Yes, I am, and you are my beloved." Roman also stuck to the facts.

“The people at the Blood Rose are all vampires.”

"The staff are vampires, the clientele varies."

"I've gone there before with real friends, not those clowns from the bank, and I saw things. They seemed odd, but I didn't care and didn't read anything into it. Now it makes sense, and now I wonder how much of life I've missed." Alex placed his hands on Roman's chest, and Roman pulled him close, wrapping his arms around him.

"Your eyes are open, and your mind is clear; you won't miss anything else," Roman assured.

"This is freaky, you know that, right?"

"I know that." He dropped a possessive kiss on the top of Alex's head. That man was just so sweet and kissable.

CHAPTER FIVE

Alex felt like he was on drugs because this had to be some sort of wild hallucination. The things flooding his mind were crazy, but everything about it and about him was true and accurate. He did not have any doubt, and yet he did . . . didn’t he? Was his world fracturing? Insanity, was this insanity? No, it’s real, this is real life.

"The upper level at First National." He said and then paused. He'd seen those offices a thousand times, watched the people come and go, making deals and doing business, the President, V.P., officers, and the like. Now he was seeing who they really were.

Roman kept his eyes on him, gauging and comforting, he really was a good man, a vampire and deadly at that, but Alex could see at his heart he was a good man. He had no idea how he knew that, but it filled his heart and mind whenever his thoughts went to Roman, and they went there often.

Roman nodded, and that was his answer. "Vampires, the senior management, all the executives, they're all vampires." Roman nodded again. “Jackson was fucking his vampire boss.”

“And most likely feeding him as well.”

"It seems a bit one-sided to me. What exactly did Jackson get out of the deal?" Alex was simply curious.

"Longer lunch hours, other than that, he hadn't had a promotion since his original hire," Roman commented, and Alex couldn't hide his surprise.

“He was hoping for a promotion.”

“Perhaps, who knows.” Roman shrugged. “Shade has power he wanted to fuck power that’s probably all there was to it.”

"That is fucking sad," Alex said with considerable emotion.

"You have morals and integrity, so it seems abhorrent to you, but to some it's just life and business as usual," Roman says and then pulls him back into his arms for another mind-numbing kiss. The guy had skill, and every kiss, every touch set Alex on fire and made him feel like the luckiest man in Chicago.

"So, tell me, why did you make a spectacle of yourself at the Blood Rose?" Finnian Shade decided to deal with Jackson himself, and once he was alerted that Jackson had arrived home from his stay in the hospital, he paid him a visit.

"What do you mean? I was attacked and left for dead in a grimy alleyway." Jackson jumped to his defense, clearly understanding but choosing not to.

Finnian was there with his assistant Karl, who remained by the door. Jackson's apartment was on the first floor, a small place with easy access to the back lot in and out with no cameras.

Finnian had entered the property often in the last few months, enjoying the enthusiasm of the human, and Finnian liked playing with his hopes and dreams. Jackson had delusions of advancement and eventual recognition. He figured his affability would carry him to greatness, but death was the only thing in his future; there was nothing else.
