I jut my chin towards the cards. “Call.”
“We haven’t even started yet,” Dad says.
“I know.” I shrug. I got dealt a good hand. And honestly, I don’t really feel like playing cards. “I should be working, not sitting here playing cards with my dad.”
“I think your boss won’t mind you playing cards.”
“I don’t know… my boss can be grouchy.” I laugh. “Sorry, Dad. Let’s do this later. I have an idea I need to start on.”
“An idea. What is it?”
“I’ll let you know once I’m ready to share.” I run out of his office and up to my bedroom, Hunter and Isaac both hot on my trail.
“Is everything okay, Miss Bianchi?” Hunter asks.
“Oh, yeah, sorry. I got excited about something. I’m just going to be sitting in here working for a while. You two should go and take a break.”
“I’m going to do a sweep and then we will be out here,” Isaac says, walking into my bedroom.
I don’t interfere. I know they’re just doing the job they were hired to do. I told Jake I wouldn’t fight him on the security thing. It seemed important to him. He’s been here every night this week. He looks really stressed, and I want to be able to…help him out. He won’t have sex in my parents’ house. I don’t know what his issue is.
He will, however, get me off using his fingers and his mouth. But when I try to return the favor, he tells me no. Not in my father’s house. As much as I like his fingers and his tongue on me, I want all of him. And I really need to get out of this damn house.
Which is the idea I just came up with. I told my father it had to do with work. And to an extent, it does. I want to get back to the casino. I want to get Jake back to my apartment. And I think I know how to convince people to help me.
I open a group message, sending it to Elias, Alfie, CJ, and all the older cousins.
Me:
Poker game tonight, 7pm. My parents’ house. You all need to come and hang out with me.
Elias:
What’s the buy-in?
Me:
Five grand.
Elias:
Make it ten and I’ll be there.
Me:
fine.
I roll my eyes. Elias always wants to be in charge of everything, and it’s always on his terms.
Alfie:
I’m in. I could use some of that cartel cash in my pocket.
CJ:
I live here. Did you forget?
Me:
