Vic choked on a laugh.
Tachina cupped Vic’s face in her hands. She leaned down and kissed his lips.
“Yes,” she whispered. “Yes, I will marry you.”
Kian let out a loud whoop and raced around the yard.Vic rose and slid the ring onto her finger. Perfect fit. Perfect moment.
He pulled her into him and wrapped his arms around her, the baby between them. She melted against his chest. Her breath was shaky as it skated across his neck. He leaned down and kissed her. Slow and tender, but short since Kian started making fake gagging noises behind them.
Vic rested his forehead on hers and blew out a deep breath.
“I love you,” he said.
“I love you, too.” Tachina sniffed.
Kian wedged himself between them and hugged both of them. They laughed and cradled their child .
“Can we have cake now?” Kian asked.
Tachina’s musical laughed filled the air. Vic lifted Kian and tossed him over his shoulder.
“Yes, baby,” Tachina said. She wiped the wetness from her cheeks. “We can have cake.”
Vic pulled her to him. Her belly pressed against his hip. He felt the gentle movement from the inside.
“Everything I ever wanted is right here,” he murmured.
And it was.
His woman.
His son.
A new baby—their daughter, who was on the way. His whole world was as bright as a lovely spring day and twice as warm. He dropped a kiss on Tachina’s lips.
“Let’s go get that cake.”
