“I can do anythin’ I want,” the man states simply while never removing his eyes from me.

The room soon empties of his men and the assholes who kidnapped me.I’m left with the man I still don’t know the name of and a few who work for him. They block my escape route out of here and I know I can’t fight off four men on my own. That’s just asking to be injured beyond belief.

“What do you want with me?”I ask the man as my legs almost give out on me again and I just manage to catch myself on the desk.“Who the hell are you?”

“You can call me Calbert.I’m not gonna do anythin’ with you, Wren.I’ll be takin’ you to the hospital.I’ve already been in contact with Judge. How are you feelin’?”he asks me, his voice soft and gentle despite the blank look still on his face.

“I’m not doing good at all,” I answer as I finally lose the battle of holding myself up.

My legs go numb, the tingling gets worse, and a sharp jolt of pain shoots through my neck and back.I can’t hold in the scream this time as I fall to the floor and protect my stomach.I land on my back as another ripple of pain shoots through my entire body and it feels as if I can’t move my body.A gasp escapes me as the breath leaves my body and I struggle to suck in more air.

“Wren!”Calbert yells as he drops to his knees next to me.“I need to know what’s wrong.I don’t want to touch you and make whatever you have goin’ on worse.”

Opening my mouth, I try to speak, but I’m unable to.The pain and lack of oxygen is making it impossible to do anything.I try to shake my head so I can do something, but it’s also impossible.I don’t know what the hell is going on, but something isn’t right. It’s like I don’t have control of my body or what happens to it.I’ve never been drugged before, but I imagine this is what it feels like.I can hear and understand everything going on, I just can’t do anything to help myself.

“Someone call for an ambulance and look to see if we can find any security footage.I want to know what the fuck was done to Wren. Now!”Calbert orders, his voice harder than what he’s used since walking in this room.

I watch as he pulls out his phone and makes a phone call.Hopefully he’s calling one of the guys so they know where I am and what’s going on.

“Judge, you’re not gonna like this shit.Wren just collapsed in front of me.She can’t speak and her entire body is shaking uncontrollably.I don’t know but it looks as if she can’t breathe right. We’re gettin’ an ambulance here because I refuse to touch her.I’m not about to make her injuries worse.Got one of my guys tryin’ to see if he can pull up security footage.Have one of your guys do the same in case we can’t get it.We need to tell the doctors what’s goin’ on with her,” Calbert says, putting his phone on speaker and setting it on the floor next to me.

“What the fuck?”Judge growls out so loud I feel as if he’s standing right next to me.“Can she hear me?”

“She can.”

“Little Bird, are the babies okay?Does your stomach hurt at all?”Judge asks and I feel a tear slide down my face because for the first time he actually sounds concerned about our children and what’s going on with me.“Can you speak at all?”

I open my mouth once again to speak.Nothing comes out.I want to answer Judge, to try and reassure him I think the babies are okay, but I can’t.Fear sweeps through me as I start to tremble even more and this time I know it’s because something is very wrong and I don’t know if I’ll make it out of this situation alive. The fear of dying is all-consuming.

“Wren’s tryin’ to speak, but she can’t.No words will come out for some reason.I don’t really understand what is goin’ on with her. She’s gettin’ worse, Judge. If you got a specific doctor you want workin’ on her, make it fuckin’ happen.I can hear the sirens of the ambulance right now,” Calbert says as I watch a man lean down and hold his phone out.

Calbert takes it and watches the screen. His face turns several shades of red before I hear him speak again.

“That fuckin’ bitch yanked her head back when they were outside.I can see the strain in this video and I can almost guarantee the muscles and ligaments of her neck and back have been damaged.Judge, this isn’t good at all.Get someone ready for her to come in.I’m hangin’ up so I can make sure your girl is okay,” Calbert says and does hang up before Judge can say another word.

I’m soon surrounded by paramedics as Calbert explains what he just saw in the video.A neck brace is put on me and I’m carefully rolled onto a backboard before being lifted onto the stretcher.I’m fastened down and blankets are placed over my body.Calbert doesn’t leave my side as I’m wheeled through The Hide Out.He says nothing as the paramedics speak to one another and I’m jolted as they load me in the back of the ambulance. My mouth opens on a silent scream as I’m locked in place and they start to try and get my vitals. That’s when everything starts to fade and I allow myself to sink into the depths of nothing.I’m safe and on my way to get help.Hopefully it’s not too late for my babies.
