Chapter Ten
Judge
SITTING IN THE commonroom with everyone, my eyes never leave Wren.Fury raced to her the second she got to the bottom of the stairs and led her to the bar while he took care of her.I watched on as she talked and laughed with Tristan and Zach for the longest time.She ate her potato with enthusiasm and enjoyed every single bite of it.She’s a woman who seems to enjoy food unlike every other one who picks at food.Wren eats every bite and truly enjoys it.It’s refreshing to see.Then I watched as guys from the Braedon chapter met her.Including both of my brothers.Gramps couldn’t take his eyes off of her either.
“Who’s that girl, Judge?”he questions me when Death, Talon, and the rest of the guys walk away from her.
“That’s Wren.She’s stayin’ here for a while.Fury and his family feel indebted to her because she tried to save Razer that day.Covered him with her body when the explosion hit,” I answer him as he snaps his head toward me.
“Are you fuckin’ with me?”he asks, his voice full of shock as Death and Talon join us.
“I’m serious.She pulled him from the fire somehow and then covered his body with hers.She just got out of the hospital today.Her lungs are still recoverin’ from the smoke inhalation and from what I’ve been told her back is covered in bruises and cuts.I think it’s on one leg as well.She was hit with debris,” I state as Zach clears her garbage away and Tristan leans close to talk to her.
“Heard she put you in your place at the hospital.Wouldn’t let you in her room,” Death says with a shit eating grin on his face.“I wish I’d been there to see it.That woman is tiny as fuck and looks too sweet to do anythin’ like that.”
“She’s full of sass and knows what she wants,” Fury says, walking up to join us.“Wren’s a good girl and needs some help.I’m gonna do whatever she allows me to do to help her.”
“You got a thing for her, Fury?”Talon asks him, genuinely curious about his answer as I turn my attention to him.
“No.She’s just a really good girl and has been dealt a shit hand in life from what I’ve gathered.She doesn’t share a lot of personal information.Most of what I’ve heard has been from Tristan and Zach, the two Prospects behind the bar.They were all in a foster home together and consider themselves her younger brothers.The two of them have been taking care of her for the last week and really care about her,” he responds as I look over again to find Tristan laughing with her about something.
“You can’t seem to take your eyes off her, Judge,” Gramps states and I don’t bother responding because it’s not a question.
“That’s because he fucked up with her.Took her virginity in the bathroom of a dingy ass bar and left her without a word.Now he’s all twisted up because she wants nothin’ to do with him.I don’t think she’s said a word to him in the last week.At least not when I’m around.I went to see her every single day,” Fury shares with my family and I know I’m about to get some shit.
“You’ve gotta be kiddin’ me.That’s a dick move, Judge.I wasn’t even that bad,” Talon says as Bronwan walks up and places a hand on his shoulder.“Where are the kids?”
“They’re playin’ outside with Wyatt watching them,” she says before smiling at me.“What are we talking about?”
“What an absolute dick Judge is.Took that girl’s virginity and left her without a word,” Death tells our sister-in-law.
“Judge, I know you’re the biggest manwhore in the family, but that’s messed up.What girl are we talking about?”Bronwan asks, looking around the room.
“Wren.She’s over at the bar dressed in the hoodie,” Fury points her out as Wren laughs again with Zach.The two of them are up her ass and I don’t like it.
“She’s gorgeous,” Bronwan states the fact I already know.“I’ll make sure to talk to her while we’re here.Is she okay?”
Wren goes to move on the stool and we all watch on as she winces and drops her head for a minute.I know she’s struggling to breathe because of the laughter and talking.It seems to really take a lot out of her.She looks exhausted and ready to collapse any minute.
“She’s still recoverin’.Wren tried to save Razer.Not goin’ into detail because she doesn’t want to hear about it.Please don’t say anythin’ to her,” Fury says, letting me in on something I didn’t know about her.“When she met Millie, she told us she would have traded her life for his because he has a family who loves him and cares whether he’s here or not while she has no one.Millie made her promise she’d live her life in honor of him.I’m worried about her because she was serious.If she could give her life to bring Razer back to us, she wouldn’t hesitate.”
“Wow!That’s a good person,” Bronwan says, looking at Wren still.“I don’t know anyone else who would say that and truly mean it.Don’t let her do anythin’ stupid.”
“I don’t plan on it,” Fury says and I know my best friend means it.He’s going to take care of her whether Wren likes it or not.
Tristan walks from behind the bar and makes his way over to Wren.He helps her off the stool and leads her toward the hall where his room is.I watch every step she takes and I know I’m not the only one.Wren has captured the attention of everyone in the room for one reason or another.All the single guys are wondering if she’s single and all the taken men are simply questioning why she’s here.The Rebels are glaring at her and sizing her up.Wren doesn’t look like she can do very much with how tiny she is, but I have a feeling she can protect herself.
After a while, Tristan returns alone.Where the fuck is Wren?
“Tristan, where’s Wren?”Fury asks him, looking around for any sign of her.
