The moment Boaz’s blood touched his tongue, he wanted to cry in relief. He drank deep, desperate to fill the hollow ache twisting in his stomach.
Chapter 8
Boaz
Red eyes glowed in the dark.
Strong arms reached for him, pulling him close until there was no space between them.
A shiver ran down his spine as a warm breath brushed against the side of his neck. It sent heat spreading through him, making his skin tingle. Boaz went still, his body tense —anticipating the vampire’s bite.
Bite me,he murmured under his breath as he leaned into Alexander’s warmth.
Then the ground seemed to drop out from under him as he lost his balance. But Alexander’s arms were still there, keeping him from falling.
Seconds later, he was staring up at the exposed beams of his cabin, his body burning with desire. His cock grew hard when he felt Alexander’s fangs sink deep into his flesh
And then he started to suckle, every pull dragging on something deep inside him.
“Aah… fuck,” Boaz cried, his hips rolling fucking air.
A low growl rumbled around him, the sound vibrating down his spine. Alexander’s arms tightened, holding him in place as he suckled harder.
Boaz dragged in a ragged breath as his entire body shuddered violently, every muscle tensing.
Then, darkness.

Alexander
He had to do it.
He had to do it.
Alexander repeated the words over and over in his mind, staring blankly at the bed in his room. He hadn’t moved since he’d appeared there. He just stood frozen, adrenaline pumping through his veins and the taste of Boaz’s blood lingering on his tongue.
He took a deep breath, forcing himself to push away any thought of what he’d done. Soon enough, it would stop.
He turned away from the bed and headed for the door, opening it and stepping out into the hallway. The low hum of conversation pulled him forward, offering a reprieve from the turmoil within.
He pushed the door to the family room open, and the room fell quiet instantly. The television kept playing, the only sound left as every head turned toward him.
Greer stood from his chair, setting his cards aside. “Did you need something, Your Majesty?” he asked.
Alexander shook his head. “No. I… came to apologize for earlier. I was…”
“There’s no need,” Greer said as he glanced around the room. “Everyone understands.”
Alexander’s gaze followed his, taking in the quiet nods. His chest tightened slightly at the sight.
There were fewer of them now. The clan noticeably smaller than it used to be. The war had taken too many. Alexander’s heart clenched at that thought, tears prickling his eyes.
“Thank you,” he said. He turned, ready to leave, but a hand lifted from the couch.
“Come on,” Blade called out, waving him over with a wide grin. “Join us.”
Alexander hesitated for a second, before he crossed the room and sat down on the couch.
