It was strange indeed, Nylune thought as he prepared his dinner. Done, he took his plate and glass of spirit to his backyard, set them down on the bench beside the lounge chair and returned to the house for his connector and plush blanket. The night was a little chilly.

His eyes fell on his garden as he sat down, taking in the peaceful and serene space. He devoured his dinner, while he read one of L.A.’s newest storiesKnotted. To say that he was obsessed with the author’s stories was an understatement. Sometimes he felt like the characters the author described – how desperate they became for their alphas, how they needed them. It was visceral and soul deep. He lived vicariously through L.A’s stories. The characters did things he couldn’t. Nylune bit his bottom lip as his eyes flew over the lascivious words.

I bury my face into the pillow and moan. I don’t want him to know how much he affects me, how much I yearn for his cock deep inside me, and for his knot. If he asked me to, I would beg for it. Crawl on my knees just to feel him deep inside, feel him knot me and stretch me so wide I can hardly breathe.

I know this is not love. He’s not here for that. He uses me. And I let him because I need him. Without him I wouldn’t be able to breathe. My body and soul need everything he has to give even though it’s not enough. I want him to give me everything. But he won’t. He runs his hands down my back to my ass. My hole drips, growing sopping wet with every touch. He likes teasing me. And I like it too, because then our time won’t end too quickly.

If he would let me, I would spend an eternity with him. I would give him my everything.

“You’re so wet,” he states the obvious. I shiver as his fingers touch me there. I produce more liquid for him, while I bite my tongue to keep from crying from the pleasure that rakes my insides from that simple contact. I widen my thighs, silently begging him to give me what I want, what I need. He groans, covering my back with his chest. His cock slides over my back.

Fuck, he’s big… I can’t wait to feel him inside me. The anticipation is killing me.

“Please,” the word slips out of my mouth when I had told myself that I wouldn’t give in; that I wouldn’t show him how much I need this… want him. His hand grips the back of my neck tight and shoves me into the pillow. I gasp for breath, shivering. I love his aggression and the blunt nails sinking into my hip.

“Don’t move,” he commands in a hard voice. I remain still and wait.

Nylune swallowed, lifting his eyes from the connector for a breather. And that’s when he saw it. Illuminated by the lamps set in his flowers, its fur shimmering red, the black parts blending into the darkness. The okie… the one that was supposed to move in a month from now… was in his yard, staring at him.

What?

Nylune blinked, feeling like he was dreaming. It couldn’t be real. He couldn’t be staring at the most dangerous animal on the planet right there in his yard. What was it doing in his yard? How did it get in?

Nylune looked at the wall, but his gaze was dragged back to the animal. He shouldn’t take his eyes off it…not for a second. Its red eyes glowed redder as it focused on him. It stood frozen, one clawed paw lifted in the air as if it were ready to strike. Its wide mouth gaped open, showing sharp teeth.

Oh shit, he was going to die tonight.

It was bigger than he’d imagined. Its two horns looked menacing and lethal. Nylune swallowed, this time for a different reason. Fear coursed through his veins, turning him cold. He shoved to his feet and turned to run into the house. He moved, but his body must not have gotten the memo, because he flapped around, tripping over his feet. He screamed as he watched the bench coming towards him at top speed. He was going to fall on top of it. He tried to fall sideways and was lucky enough to fall back into the lounge chair. The chair jerked, tilting to the side, but it held, not toppling him over. Nylune scrambled to a sitting position and almost came out of his skin when he saw the okie at the steps.

When had he come that close?

Seconds ticked by and it didn’t move. It just stared at him, assessing.

“Don’t even think of coming any closer. I have… I have…” Nylune looked around for a weapon. But all he saw on the bench was his plate, glass, gloves and the weeder. Damn him for being too neat for his own good. Other people had a lot of shit in their backyards they could use as weapons.

Fuck.

He reached for the weeder with shaking hands. It wasn’t much, but he could stab it if it came at him. Well, he hoped so.

The okie took another step, unfazed by his weapon.

“Please, don’t eat me,” he said closing his eyes. The night suddenly went silent, as if in anticipation of his demise. The only thing he could hear was the pounding of his heart and his heavy breathing. The okie moved as silent as the night. Nylune knew he’d moved, because his scent suddenly became heavy, and he could feel the air change around him. “Please… please,” he begged.

A humming sound filled the silence, reverberating all around him. Nylune gasped as goosebumps dotted his skin, making him sit up straight. He wanted to rub his arms as he felt tingly inside. The sensation felt pleasant in a startling way.

Nylune peeked at the okie. He recoiled as he found him closer than he’d expected.

“No… no… get away,” he said, blindly lashing out, hitting its horn. The weeder clattered to the floor. He hissed as pain radiated through his arm to the rest of his body. He sat still, knowing that if he fought, he was only going to hurt himself.

Nylune gulped, cradling his arm to his chest. The okie blinked innocently, as if it were not a dangerous creature. It started to hum again, and Nylune felt a little calmer the longer it hummed. The humming was doing things to him. Was it lulling him before it pounced?

It didn’t seem to be in a hurry. It continued to hum for what felt like forever. Nylune realised it wasn’t going to hurt him and relaxed a little bit. The okie stopped humming and stared at him with his intimidating red eyes. Nylune looked away, unable to hold its stare. He looked over at the wall again, trying to figure out how the creature had got through.

And why had it come into his yard, anyway?

Something must have drawn him into his yard. He had exotic flowers planted around his garden. Some of which smelled funky. Maybe they enticed it to come over. But it shouldn’t be here, whatever the reason.

“Your alpha lied about you, didn’t he?” Nylune asked it, even though he knew it couldn’t respond. “This is a crime. He gave his neighbours false information about a very dangerous animal.”
