He couldn't ask the omega about something like that. Maybe after he knew him better. He ordered a few bots and scanned Hym’s chip to pay for everything in his cart.

Jamue confirmed the address pulled from Hym’s chip for delivery and dropped his connector on the bed.

Now, he had to figure out how to be a good companion. Hym’s dreams were the problem.

He couldn’t exactly stop him from dreaming, but he could help him relax before bed.

Jamue blushed at the thoughts crowding his mind.

Focus, Jamue told himself.

Hym

“Are you going to tell me what we’re doing here?” Tarymn asked as they walked to the detention centre.

Hym looked over at his brother, offering him no answers. He’d dragged him out of the council offices without telling him where they were going because he knew he wouldn't go.

Hym faced the detention centre.

After Pharyi's murder, he'd tried sneaking into the centre but couldn't because of the tight security, which made him wonder how the killers got in.

How did they go in there and kill him without anyone noticing anything?

Something felt off. Roc should have found something, no matter how small.

Hym looked around him, the predator in him rising. He could feel his wolf stretching in anticipation.

He balled his hands, holding him in. He couldn’t allow him to get away from him. The unpredictable motherfucker could slip his fingers at any time.

He wished he had a better hold on him.

Makar was right. His wolf would be a great asset if he could control it.He could already feel the change in him as they got closer to the doors.

His body tightened, and his aggression rose, reaching a new high.

Tarymn grimaced next to him.

“Hym?”

“I got it,” he bit out, clenching his teeth.

“Are you sure? If you keep this up, you’ll end up in some facility medicated,” Tarymn bit out, eyeing the guards at the door.

They turned their way suspiciously.

“Just get me inside Pharyi’s detention cell,” Hym whispered.

“What?” Tarymn almost tripped at his request. “Are you crazy? We can't just walk in there. We must follow the right procedure. I shouldn’t step into the centre before we receive a report, which we'll receive tomorrow.”

“No, I’m not crazy. And I’m not interested in your council politics. I’m concerned about protecting our alpha king.”

“So am I. That’s why we requested a report.”

“Sounds official,” Hym commented, unimpressed.

Tarymn groaned.
