It was definitely time to go. He didn’t want to leave but he couldn't push him either.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” he forced out.
He walked down the stairs and stopped when he realized he wasn’t following him.
“Come and lock up,” he told him. Jamue followed him down. He walked through the double doors and listened to the security system engaging.
Until tomorrow, he thought, walking to his pod.
He got inside and sat there, contemplating sleeping out there, but he had to make arrangements with his brother.
Tarymn had to put everything in motion tonight. Hym brought the pod to life and drifted away. He arrived home and went in search of his brother.
He found him in his office.
“You’re back.” The worry in his eyes was unmistakable. Hym smiled. “You look happy.”
“I am,” he said. “I’ve decided who I want for my companion. Call the agency and make arrangements for an officer from the council to visit tomorrow. I want to make everything official before he changes his mind.”
“Who, Jamue?” Tarymn got to his feet. “You didn’t force him, did you?”
“No. You told me not to,” he deadpanned.
Tarymn groaned. “I’m serious, Hym. It won’t stick if you force him. The council officer will pick it up. Their tests are thorough.”
Hym sighed impatiently. “I didn’t force him. What do you take me for?”
Tarymn said nothing, just stared at him.
Fuck, he hated it when he did that. As if he was saying face your shit.
“I know you better than anyone. I know that you have a weird thing going on with that omega. I saw the way you were when we were at his building. You couldn’t keep your distance. You looked like you wanted to devour him.”
He still did, but apparently, he couldn’t do that. He had to keep his hands to himself.
Hym rubbed his hands on his thighs as they suddenly felt tingly.
Fuck.
What was he going to do about his heat?
He turned and walked to the door.
“Hym, I’m still talking to you,” Tarymn said.
He stopped at the door. “Yes. You’re right. I want to fuck him. I want to bury my cock so deep inside him we both see stars. Is that a crime? He is an omega, and I am an alpha. Things usually end up that way between alphas and omegas.”
“I know. I’m just worried that’s all. Your companion is supposed to help you with your trauma, not cause another problem or obsession.”
Too late, Hym thought with a sigh.
He closed his eyes, feeling a little guilty for not telling his brother what Jamue was to him – that he smelled like his dream omega.
He’d think I'm crazy.
He opened his eyes and looked at his brother.
“He’s the first omega I feel a connection with. I couldn’t let that go. I thought it might help me forget…you know.”
