“Interview is over,” Hym said, closing the door in his face. He took a deep breath of the last traces of his scent. He groaned as the need to follow him flooded his veins.
Shit.
Hym forced himself to walk back to the sitting area.
Feeling dizzy, he dropped onto the couch and buried his face in his hands.
What the fuck was wrong with him? He couldn’t believe he did that to some random omega. He needed to be put down or something. How could he…?
“Sorry for taking so long, my brother was…” Luci trailed off and looked around. “Where is…?”
“I thought you said you wanted me to meet someone,” Ludiin said, disappointed.
“He was here.” Luci turned to the door just as Pitra walked in with a serving bot. “Did Jamue leave?”
“I don’t know. I went to fetch the glasses,” Pitra said.
They all turned to him.
The omega? He was not from the agency? Hym sat there frozen. He’d thought… Luci’s eyes narrowed on him.
“What did you do?”
“I…”
Fuck. He…
Hym closed his eyes as he thought of how he'd behaved. Luci stared at him, waiting.
“He said he had something to do and left,” he lied.
“Oh, he did say he could stay for only an hour,” Luci sighed and stared at his brother. “It’s all your fault. You took forever to come down.”
“I did not,” Ludiin said defensively. He walked to the couch. “Let me taste these spirits that you’ve been raving about.”
Luci shook his head and walked to a delivery bot. Hym hadn’t noticed it.
Shit.
He rubbed the back of his neck as he noted the branding on the bot. It was the property of MJ Spirits. He’d heard of them before.
Was the omega from the company not a commune house?
“Here,” Luci handed him a glass with a smoky blue liquid inside. It smelled divine. Hym stared at it, not sure he wanted to drink it. “You look like you need it.”
“I’m…”
Luci hissed. “Don’t you dare say you’re fine? Your brows are seconds away from falling into your eyes. Here. Drink and relax.”
Hym took the glass with a sigh and gulped the drink down. He wished that he hadn’t.
He should have savoured it, taken his time to enjoy the smoky smooth taste exploding on his tongue - like he should have done with the omega.
No. Hym abruptly pushed to his feet. He shouldn’t think like that, or he would do something stupid.
You’ve already done something stupid.
Hym stared at the delivery bot, grimacing.
