Luci just stared at him. Ludiin walked around the bed to his side. He leaned close, looking at him in the eyes.
“Are you alright? We heard what happened to you.”
“I’m fine. Hym…” Jamue trailed off as everything came flooding his mind. Hym saw him like that. He wrapped his arms around his body, mortified.
“He’s in the cooking station preparing food for you,” Luci offered. He turned away.
“Luci?” his brother said.
“Alright.” The omega cleared his throat awkwardly. “I’m sorry slapped you. I shouldn’t have done that.”
“You always act without thinking that’s your problem.”
“Yeah, yeah…I know.” Luci waved his brother off. “I’m sorry.”
Ludiin shook his head.
“All is well. He’s back where he belongs now” Luci gave him a desperate look. “You didn’t choose the other alpha because of me. You won’t leave, right?”
Jamue stared at him, stunned. “You want me to stay?”
“Don’t you?”
He did, but… after what happened, he wasn’t sure he could stay.
Hym chose that very moment to open the door. Jamue shivered at the sight of him.
“Ludiin, time to go,” Luci said, jumping off the bed. He took his brother’s hand and walked to the door. “I know the perfect date for a bonding ceremony,” he told Hym, glancing at him.
“I told you to stay out of this room,” he said. “Why don’t you ever listen to me?”
“I don’t listen to anyone. Ask Tarymn,” Luci said. He stepped close to Hym. “Be gentle with him.”
Jamue’s cheeks warmed.
Hym sighed, exasperated.
“Out…out,” he pointed them to the door.
“We’ll talk later,” Luci continued. “I always wanted a winter bonding ceremony.”
“Luci,” Hym growled.
“I’m leaving, come Ludiin,” he said, walking out.
Hym closed the door behind him.
“Oh Hym,” Luci called through the door.
“I’m going to kill him,” he said, turning for the door. He wrenched it open. Jamue hid a smile as Hym groaned impatiently at the omega.
“Don’t look at me like that. I’m only trying to help. You left this out here,” Luci said, wheeling the serving bot into the room. He winked at Jamue and then left.
Hym walked to the bed, and Jamue suddenly felt shy. He stared at his hands as Hym climbed on the bed and sat next to him.
“Are you alright?” he asked.
Jamue nodded.
