The alpha sighed. "I should thank you."

Hym listened to Sirhe move around the room treating Jamue. He tried to let go of his anger, but he couldn’t.

“How could you give him to that monster?”

“I…” Sirhe walked to the lounge chair and sat down. “We didn’t know. He hid himself well. And besides, he’s from a wealthy family. No one questions that shit. He was the perfect alpha for Jamue, and my father wanted the match. He’s going to be devastated once he hears about this.”

Hym shook his head.

Jamue's family was ridiculous.

“And he fucking hates you,” Sirhe said with a laugh.

“I saved his son,” Hym growled.

“Lead with that the next time you see him, which I presume will be soon. You’re getting bonded to my brother soon, right?”

“No one is going to stop me from claiming him,” Hym said, staring at him.

“Good,” Sirhe said. “The first time I met you, I thought you were a crazy motherfucker. I didn’t like you very much. I hated what you did to Jamue, claiming him the way you did. I believed you ruined his life. But I was wrong. Nothing is perfect.”

“Is that the reason why you kept him away from me?”

“Partly.”

“And the other part.”

“You’re part of AF. What kind of life would you have given my brother? I wanted him to be safe. And you couldn’t offer him that.”

“And now?”

“Fuck, if I know. The alpha I thought was the safe choice for him, wasn’t.”

“I’ll keep him safe, doctor.”

“I know.” Sirhe got to his feet and checked on Jamue. A few minutes later, he left to prepare the antidote.

Hym made sure Jamue was comfortable before he made his way to the AF. He walked down the hallway to the command centre.

“Did you delete the footage?” he asked as he walked to Roc’s workstation. He didn’t want anyone to see his mate like that. His blood boiled every time he thought of Rosh watching him. That evil bastard, he wished he’d killed him.

“We can’t delete it yet. We need it for evidence, but Rhine protected Rosh's system. No one can access it. We also managed to find where the feed was transmitted. The other alphas are picking the bastards up as we speak.”

“Okay,” Hym said.

“There was more footage of other omegas in abandoned buildings. I think Master Rosh is also behind the distribution of Repinuj and operation of those abandoned buildings.”

Damn. It was all coming together.

He killed Pharyi to silence him.

“The results on the sliver of metal came back. Master Rosh didn’t kill Pharyi another alpha did. Cali and Iror are out looking for him.”

“Damn, I’m glad this is over,” Hym said. “Where is Makar?”

“He’s interrogating him?” Roc said. Hym nodded and walked out of the room. He headed to the interrogation room. Makar walked out just as he got closer.

“Did he talk?”
