Tears filled Jamue's eyes.
“I’ll sedate him while Jamue has him distracted.” Sirhe turned just as the door to the VIP section opened. "Holi? What are you doing here?"
“What’s going on? I heard sirens. Jamue…” he stepped close, but Sirhe gripped his arm to stop him.
An awkward silence ensued as everyone stared at each other.
Makar stepped in front of his brother, blocking his view.
“If you sedate my alpha, what about your brother? Is he going to suffer through his heat with another alpha when he has his true mate’s scent in his lungs? You know it’s not going to be pleasant for him. True mates might not exist anymore, but you can’t deny that your brother needs his mate. You can’t let him endure the touch of another alpha when his true mate is right here.”
“I’ll sedate both of them,” Sirhe said without any heat. He looked at Jamue defeated.
“I don’t think that’s your decision. Your brother is the one who’ll suffer whether you sedate him or not. You can't take away the fact that he met his mate and had him in his arms," Makar sighed. "He’s promised to another alpha. I understand. But it doesn’t mean he can’t help his true mate.”
“Don’t fucking say that. My brother won’t sacrifice himself for your alpha.”
“It’s not a sacrifice. He’ll be helping him.”
“I want to do it,” Jamue announced without thinking. There was nothing to think about. His alpha was suffering. If he could help him…
“Jamue? You don’t know what you’re saying. He’s your true mate, not just any alpha. If he touches you…”
“I know.” Jamue swallowed. He won’t be able to forget him. But it was better than not knowing what it felt like to be with an alpha he wanted. He felt nothing when he met Master Rosh. And that was his fate. But if he did this, he'd have something to fantasize about when Master Rosh touched him. He'd have his mate...
His brother stared at him for what felt like forever.
Jamue tried hard not to fidget.
“You shouldn’t have come here,” he turned to Holi. “Both of you.”
Jamue stared down at his feet, guilt cooling his desire.
“What happens after four days?” Sirhe asked.
Makar straightened his shoulders. “Whatever you want."
"This never happened, or it doesn't happen at all."
“Of course,” Makar said.
Jamue frowned.
He didn’t want to forget him. He wanted to hold on to his alpha. Tears filled his eyes.
"He's not for you, Jamue," Sirhe said softly.
Jamue nodded, his heart aching. He thought he could hold on to his memory. He couldn't have that either.
He sagged against his mate, tears splashing his cheek.
Oh, how he hated being born an omega ...yet at the same time he didn't.
Sirhe stared at him before he dragged Holi down the hallway. “We need to talk,” he said.
