“Shit,” Tarymn bit out.

“What?” Deltta followed his gaze down the hallway.

Pharyi ambled towards them with four detention officers. A silver collar adorned his neck, releasing a pulsating red light. Any wrong move he’d be shocked to death.

A sinister smile pulled at his lips as he got closer. “Master Kohle? We meet again.”

Fuck. He hated him.

“It would seem so. I hope you suffer where you’re going.” Deltta continued down the hallway.

“Watch your back, alpha king, because this is not over.”

Deltta snapped. His teeth sharpened; claws lengthened; the beast stirred. His alpha scent filled the space, oppressive and thick.

He was going to kill him.

“Shit.” Tarymn quickly gripped his shoulder. “Just walk away. That’s what he wants; for you to lose your shit like five years ago. Don’t give in to him.”

Deltta forced himself to stand still.

Tarymn was right.

Deltta took a calming breath and turned to Pharyi. The alpha visibly jerked, but hate still lingered in his eyes.

“Come after me again and see what happens. This time I’m going to break more than your arm.” He warned before he continued down the hallway.

“I hope they lock him up and throw away the key,” Tarymn growled behind him.

Three hours later, Deltta was bored out of his mind. He half-listened to the tedious conversation Tarymn was having with the officer. They’ve answered questions and provided documents.

What more did they want?

His blood.

Deltta took a deep breath and thought of Mac’s enticing scent; he held it in his lungs until he felt calm and unbothered.

Fuck, he missed him.

His stubborn omega was making him work hard to win him over. He was definitely worth it, though.

Deltta rubbed his chest.

“His assistant omega also backed up everything. He recorded their meetings, saved every file, and kept a clear schedule.” Tarymn dropped a chip on the table.

The officer cleared his throat, nervously. “You must understand that I'm only doing my job. We have to investigate before we can clear every alpha.”

“I understand,” Tarymn said.

“Anyway, everything seems to be in order. I'll clear the alpha king of all suspicions.”

Alpha King? Deltta stared at him.

The alpha got to his feet and offered his hand. “It’s nice to have you back.” He smiled enthusiastically. “I hope there are no hard feelings.”

“Of course not,” Deltta said.

“We should get going.” Tarymn steered him away from the enthusiastic officer. They made their way out of the detention centre to the parking dome where Tarymn left his hover pod.
