“You don’t have to go to Griean’s house. You can stay here. I didn’t know you wanted to see the capital. I would have arranged something for you.”
Utterly distracted, Mac shook his head. “I don’t like the capital. I’m doing this for Griean. I would be on my way home if that wasn't the case.”
Deltta pouted. “Your Faria is that important to you.”
“No. My job is. It took everything for me to get it. I don’t want to lose it,” Mac said, staring at his adorable face.
His pout turned into a sexy leer. “If you must stay. Stay here then.”
He was killing him.
“Yes, stay here with me,” Deltta crooned.
Mac’s entire body softened. He would love to stay with him. No. That was the claiming mark talking. Mac opened his mouth to tell him about the mark, but Yarr cleared his throat, interrupting him.
“Your brother sent me to get you,” he said.
“I’ll be right there,” Mac said, picking up his packsack. He glanced at Deltta, ignoring the disappointed look on his face.
“Give it to me.” Deltta took the packsack and walked him out of the house.
Three sets of eyes stared at them from inside the pod. Self-conscious, Mac reached for his packsack, but Deltta didn’t let go.
“I’ll see you soon, right?” he said softly. Mac nodded dumbly.
He had to see him, so they could decide what to do about the claiming mark. If only they could find a moment alone, without staring eyes.
Deltta let go of the sack. Mac climbed into the pod and sat beside Jamue.
“He looks at you like he wants to chain you to his bed,” he commented in a whisper. "Are you sure he claimed you by accident?"
"Yes." It was by accident. Though he could feel the burn of Deltta’s possessive stare on his skin. Mac didn't know what to make of that.
Thirty minutes later, they arrived at Griean’s house. His brother walked him through the house, giving him a mini tour. Mac looked around appreciatively. He knew Djohn Moulekk was rich, but this was ridiculous. The massive house was something to behold.
“Are you going to invite mom and dad here?” Mac asked, entering the guest bedroom.
“Yes. They're coming as soon as the cub is born.” Griean touched his bump lovingly.
Mac was happy for him, only a little envious. Like every other omega, the thought of having a cub thrilled him. However, he knew he'd look ridiculous. And that wasn't his only problem; finding an alpha who'd want to have a cub with him, was his biggest problem.
Deltta came to mind.
Nope. Mac moved to the bed and sat down.
“How about you? Are you going to tell them about Deltta?”
Does this mean he heard Jamue?
Unsure, Mac turned away. “There’s nothing to tell. Our arrangement should remain a secret, don’t you think?”
“Arrangement?” Griean frowned. “But I thought…”
“We share each other’s heats. That's our arrangement. Did you forget why I came to the capital in the first place?”
With a weird look in his eyes, Griean stared at him. He opened his mouth to say something, but Jamue walked in carrying their stuff.
“You have a beautiful home,” Jamue said, unaware of the tension swirling in the room.
