Deltta followed him out. “Starving.”

“Good thing, I prepared us something to eat,” he said, stepping into the drying bot. He turned to the mirror and gasped.

What?

His hand flew to the bite mark on his neck. It looked like a claiming mark.

Deltta came to stand behind him, grimacing as their eyes met in the mirror.

“Shit. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to bite you that hard. I’m sure it will fade.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.” He turned away.

Mac lifted his hand and touched it. The mark was glaringly bright and so obvious. He looked like he’d been claimed by an alpha.

Fuck, he warned him.

But he hadn’t thought he meant he’d leave a claiming mark on him. He thought he wanted his entire attention, which he gave him.

It better fade, he thought, giving it one last look.

Mac raided Deltta's clothing cubicle again for something to wear. Deltta put on a pair of sleeping pants while Mac wheeled the bot close to the bed. He opened the bot so he wouldn’t have to place the plates on the bed. He didn’t know how Deltta felt about eating in bed, he loved it.

Deltta settled next to him and reached for some fried meat. He took his first bite and moaned.

“This is good,” he said, going for more.

Mac smiled.

Deltta reached for one of the spirits. His eyes went wide after sampling the drink. “You did that?”

“Yes. It’s kind of what I do. I mix spirits in a Leisure Room. Didn’t Griean tell you?”

“No. I wasn’t in a chatty mood.” Deltta finished off the drink and reached for another one. “You’re good. This tastes incredible.”

“Thank you,” Mac said, lying back, sated.

He closed his eyes, savouring the moment. In all his fantasies, he never imagined being with an alpha would feel this way. Or maybe it was just Deltta Kohle. He was amazing.

His eyes popped open when Deltta lay beside him. He was so close they shared the same air. Butterflies fluttered in his stomach as they stared at each other.

What? Mac silently asked.

“May I touch your hair?”

“Ah...sure.”

Deltta reached for a few strands that'd gotten loose and rubbed them between his fingers.

“I want to see it.”

Stunned, Mac sat up. He unravelled the mass of hair and let it tumble to his shoulders.

Deltta stared at it in fascination.

Not shocking at all. The second thing people noticed about him was his hair.
