“Looking good, babe. You need some help?”

“Sure. Always.”

“You two are, like, domesticated.” Parker rolled his eyes, gagging playfully.

He snorted. “Come on, Parker. You’re twenty-five. Who are you hooking up with?”

“You’re not available?” Parker shot back.

“Nope.” That was direct, and Sky glared at Parker. “Mind your manners.”

Oh. Awkward.

He let that sit between them for a moment since he really couldn’t say no any better than his man just had for him. He pulled some tongs from where they hung on the grill and started putting the chicken on.

“You know I was teasing, buddy.”

“I know. Don’t. We’re solid, him and me. Tease me about being an old fuck instead.”

“Or not, because that’s true too. Old-timer.” Beck closed the grill over the chicken.

“Ancient.” Sky leaned into him.

“Brokedick?” Parker added.

“Not even a little.” Sky raised his face for a kiss.

“Not if you’re a champ, and you marry a lawyer.” He got that Parker was uncomfortable, maybe jealous, but he wasn’t going to deny Sky a kiss.

“I’d have married you if you were a dirt farmer.”

“I know. I’d have married you even if you never made the short go.” But he couldn’t lie, the way Sky walked after a win made him sweat.

“You two are gross. Seriously. Gross. You would have never seen him if he’d never made the short go. Christ.”

Sky winked up at him, and the laughter started bubbling out.

Beck looked at Parker, grinning. “Not a romantic bone in your body, is there, Parker? We need to find you someone to fall in love with. Or lust at least. That isn’t already married. That’ll fix it.” He gave Sky another quick peck on the cheek and decided not to torture poor Parker anymore.

“Surely you have a friend that needs a horny little cowboy, babe.” They started the dance of making dinner, and it felt so good, so natural.

Did he? “What’s your type, Parker?”

“Anything with a dick,” Sky whispered.

“I like sure eyes, ones that know they’re queer.”

He heard that. Parker had probably had about enough of guys that took advantage of him. He stuck Parker with his elbow. “I know a couple guys with gay eyes. And dicks.”

Sky gaped at him, so dramatic. “You mean you’re not the only Yankee with a cock? Youliar!”

He raised an eyebrow mockingly. “Shut up. You’re supposed to stand there and be pretty, not talk.”

“Skyler is pretty? Have you seen him?” Parker winked at Sky, teasing because everyone saw how handsome his husband was.

They all started laughing, though, and Beck wasn’t sure that had ever happened.

It was exactly what they needed, because they were all more relaxed after that. “All right joker, what goes with your chicken? Did you need us to cut some veggies to grill?”
