“Don’t worry about it,” I snap. “You guys can go.”
“Oh shit, did this interrupt something?”
“See you guys later.” I start to close the door on their laughter, but Will blocks it with his boot.
“I think we need to come in and check it out. Make sure it’s all clear.”
“It is. Please leave.” I try to push the door shut again.
“Protocol, you know the drill,” Tony adds, trying to make the situation even worse.
“Bull shit, I can refuse your entry,” I scoff.
“This your house?” Will asks, knowing the answer.
I clench my jaw, and then I hear Lily behind me. “Something we can help you with, gentlemen?”
“Here we go.” I sigh under my breath.
I see the looks on my coworkers faces as soon as they see Lily. The shit eating grins they both have cause my head to shake.
“Is this your house, ma’am?” Will asks like he doesn’t know who she is.
“Yes, it is,” Lily announces.
“We just want to come in to make sure everything is clear before leaving.”
I turn around to look at Lily in a way I hope portrays,“No, tell them to go away.”
Instead, she smiles at me widely, looking down at the blanket that’s the only thing covering my naked body. “Sure, come on in.”
I shake my head at her as the guys push their way past me through the door. They walk through the house to clear it I can tell they’re taking their time to drive me crazy. I end up steppingbehind Lily, dropping my lips against her ear so she’s the only one that can hear me. “You’re going to get it.” I’m glad she put on enough clothes that she’s covered, but I can tell she’s thoroughly entertained by the fact that I’m not.
She tilts her face toward me. “Good.”
“Hi bitch!”Jerry Lee makes himself known, and I can see the firefighters look around to see who that was. “Jizz!”
“Interesting bird you have there.” Will chuckles.
“Yeah, Parker finds it funny to teach him random words.” Lily shrugs.
I dig my fingers into her side to tickle her and she squeals.
After several minutes they finally claim to have cleared the house. “Alright, it all looks good.”
“Like I told you,” I mumble.
“Thank you so much, guys. We really appreciate it,” Lily tells them sweetly and I just shake my head at how over the top she’s being. I know why she’s doing it because her favorite pastime is to fuck with me.
She’s loves that I’ve had to be here in front of my coworkers in just a blanket while they search her house for a fire I already put out.
As soon as the front door is shut behind them, I turn back toward her with a raised eyebrow. “Get back to your room, we have something to finish.”
CHAPTER 43
Lily
I’m gigglinglike a maniac all the way back to my room. This clearly is not where I saw the day going, but who could have predicted we would accidentally start a fire because of a candle I lit not even thinking about it. But also, who would have thought Parker would toss my shirt on top of it.
