When he pulls back, I’m still trying to catch my breath.
“So…” I swallow.
“The auction?”
“Yes.”
“I own it,” he says.
“It’s one of my businesses.”
“Alongside a few others.”
“Like what?” I ask, almost afraid of the answer.
He watches me for a second.
“Drugs, guns, crypto, fake documents. There’s three most influential, and the most feared men in the Aurelia City. Each of us has his own area, and we help each other from time to time, not for free of course.”
“Who are the other two you work with?”
“Well, my area is drugs. Vincent Heisenberg is responsible for all sorts of weapons, guns and things like this. Then there’s Draven Cadbury. He was the first man I’ve met, he’s the one who introduced to this business ideas. Draven is responsible for anything with crypto, fake documents of all kinds. If you need any sort of papers – Draven is the man that you’ll need to see.”
“Wait? You said Heisenberg and Cadbury?”
“Yes. Why are you asking?”
“That’s funny. When I was kidnapped, the first time, I’ve met two guys there.”
“What guys?”
“Archie Heisenberg and Theron Cadbury. I’ve never seen them after the night you bought me. I have no idea if they are even alive, or where they even are?”
Then I see a smile appearing on Pierce’s face.
“Why the fuck you’re smiling? Can you find out where they are? And if they were bought, where are they now?”
“I don’t need to look, cupcake. I have an idea where they might be.”
“What do you mean? How can you know it?”
“You see… Vincent Heisenberg is Archie’s stepdad. And Draven Cadbury happens to be Theron’s uncle, so…”
“Wait? You think they bought them off at the auction as well?”
“Well, the three of us are the co-owners of the auction, so I’m sure. I’m actually certain, that is exactly what they did.”
“You seem sure of that. How?”
He comes closer and puts a small kiss on my lips.
“See, Angel, I’m not the only one, who used the Auction to get what I want.”
