“So, what are you gonna do now?”
I sigh. “Look for a job, I guess. Find an apartment. Figure out what I want from life, now that I’ve walked away from the thing I’ve been working toward every day for the past eight years.”
“You know…” He shoots me a speculative look. “Your stuff is still here.”
“Thought it was going in the dumpster?”
“It was. Eventually. I just hadn’t found the time to move it.” A grins twitches his mouth up. “My point is, if you want your room back, you should take it.”
My throat feels a bit tight, so I take a long swig of my beer. “Thanks, man.”
“Don’t get all mushy on me.”
I flip him off. “Better?”
“Much.”
Aiden walks back into the room, grinning wide. “So. I figured out what we’re doing tonight…”
