It’s as if it was impossible for him to let me go, but after a few seconds, he went ahead and did it. It’s as if he had to pry himself away from me, but he let me go, and I was able to finish doing what I had to do at the sink.
I didn’t want our moments like this to end in Mexico. I can’t tell you the last time that I’ve been this happy. Being here, the sound of the ocean, the beautiful scenery, just being around Dolo has put me in a peace that I’ve never really been in before. I felt like I needed this trip. Crazy thing is, with the life that I lived, peace wasn’t something that was going to always be offered to me.
Peace was only offered to me temporary. I knew that the second we touched down in Miami, we would be back to the bullshit all over again. This was the life that I signed up for though, so I was ready for it.
Chapter 2
Dominique ‘Dolo’ Shaw
My brother hit me, telling me that he was outside chilling with Bray, Kentrell, and a few of the other niggas from MBM. He wanted me to come join them, so I threw some clothes on, going to go down and meet with them. I needed to sit down and talk to them anyways. I had to tell them about that shit with Mook. I couldn’t just sit on that information without telling anyone about it.
There was this part of me that didn’t want it to be true. I watched that camera footage over a hundred times today, hoping that my eyes were playing tricks on me, and that I really didn’t see that shit for real, but it seems like every time I watched it, the quality would get clearer.
The plan had been to tell Riot about it as soon as she woke up, but I really didn’t want to put anything else on her plate, especially since she had that fucked up nightmare during her nap. I would have felt bad putting that on her, so I didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, it wouldn’t ruin her day if I had to tell her that Mook was snorting coke, but I was one of those people that didn’t like to constantly throw a lot of negativity on people.
I was able to put on my best performance and pretend that there wasn’t anything that was bothering me, knowing that I wasitching to get my ass back to Miami, so that I could put hands and feet on that nigga for playing with me. If it wasn’t for Riot, I would have cut this trip short the second I saw that video. I’m talking, the second I would have saw that nigga take that first sniff, I would have been sending out a mass message to all the boys, telling them to pack their bags, so that we could head back to Miami. I didn’t do that because this was her first time out of the country, and from the moment we landed, and stepped foot on this resort, Riot had been saying how beautiful it was, and shit like that, so I knew that she wasn’t ready to go home.
The things I’m willing to do for this girl is crazy. She’s pulling out parts of me that I didn’t even know existed. She told me yesterday that she wanted her make-up done for Octavio’s party, and I immediately had her get on the phone with her cousin, so that Ari could find her someone out here to do it. I paid that last minute fee for someone to come out here and make my girl look like a barbie. When I woke her up this morning, she told me she was sore, and I immediately got on the phone with someone, scheduling a massage for her. Her screams from the nightmare that she was having woke me up out of my sleep, and I didn’t put that conversation to rest until she told me what her nightmare was about. I genuinely fucked with this girl. I liked her. Then, we’ve been doing all this fuckin since last night, and every stroke, I’m damn near falling in love with her. If it wasn’t for my niggas hitting me, I would have still been in the room, watching her as she got a massage.
I made it to the outside area where the guys were. Each of them had plates that was filled with food, and there was multiple shot glasses sitting on the table as well. My brother was the first one to see me. He was sitting at a table with Bray and Kendrick. Diego reached his hand out for a pound from me, and I did just that, followed by doing it to Bray, and Kendrick. I spoke with therest of the MBM squad that was out here, and I sat at the empty chair that was on the side of my brother.
“Nigga finally crawled out of the pussy long enough to come chill with his brothers. This was supposed to be a business trip, and you fucked around and turned it into a romantic getaway,” Kendrick cracked, which I wasn’t surprised about because his black ass always had some shit to say.
“This was never a business trip, nigga. We came out here to celebrate with Octavio,” I let him know, leaning back in my chair, parting my legs a little bit, and putting my hands behind my head.
“What you and Riot got going on, man? I feel like you haven’t really spoken on that shit with us. I mean, from the outside looking in, we know what it looks like, but what is it? That’s you?” Bray wanted to know.
I already knew that these niggas were going to question me about my status with Riot. I could see it in their eyes that they had been itching to ask me about it since last night at the party, but I kept Riot in my space the entire night, not wanting her to leave my side, so they didn’t get that alone time with me to ask.
“Yeah man. We going to try this relationship shit out, and see where it goes,” I was honest with them.
Each of them had a look on their face like they couldn’t believe this shit. I mean, they all paused from the food that they were eating, and their jaws were damn near on the table, as they looked me in my eyes, waiting for the part where I yelled out that it was just a prank.
I wasn’t offended by their reactions though. They reacted the same way that I would if one of them were to tell me that they were settling down. I didn’t feel as if I was as big of a dog as these nigga were, but I’ve been around the block, and I’ve fucked my fair share of bitches. I damn near made an oath with them, telling them that a relationship was never in my deck of cards, and how I was going to die a bachelor.
“You sprung off pussy right now, or you really mean that shit?” Diego asked me, looking at me like he was concerned more than anything.
I laughed because it was kind of crazy that each of them were all staring at me like I was sporting two heads or some shit.
“I really mean that shit. I’m being dead ass with ya’ll niggas right now. I can understand ya’ll being shocked, but this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Riot been rocking with me for weeks now. Damn near every time we at the warehouse, the trap, the dock, or wherever the business is, I always got her with me. Niggas, we sleeping in the same room. Ya’ll saw the shit that we were on last night at the party. Ya’ll had to know that what we got going on was getting a little deep,” I voiced.
Bray was the one to clear his throat, and he sat up in his seat a little bit, prepared to respond first.
“I ain’t doubting your decision. I fuck with Riot. She’s cool. She’s been good in my book ever since she helped you take out some of dem 9 boyz. By no means am I questioning why you chose her. I guess if anything, I’m questioning if you got what it takes to be in a relationship. Not only to be in a relationship, but you gotta do business with her too. I know this relationship thing is new for you,” Bray said, and I respected his opinion, so I nodded my head.
“Shit, I got my worries too. I don’t see myself cheating on her though. I’ll be a fool to do that. I swear I’m not just saying that because I’m high off the pussy, either. I mean that. Riot more to me than just pussy. That’s my dawg before anything. I can sit with her for hours and speak about the game, the changes that I want to make, and the plans that I have for the business. When I talk to her, it ain’t like I’m talking to a fuckin wall. That girl smart as hell, and she puts shit in my head that I never eventhought about. If I fuck around, I ain’t going to just lose her as my girl, but I’ll lose our friendship too, and not even trying to sound soft or no shit like that, but I ain’t trying to lose that,” I said some real shit to them, and judging by the way all of them were nodding their heads, and the shocked look eventually left their eyes, I knew then that they were feeling me, and they knew that I was telling the truth.
Each of them shared positivity with me, letting me know that I had their support, and how they liked Riot for me. Once we got that out the way, that’s when I moved on, so that I could share with them the shit about Mook. I hated that I even had to bring it up because I knew that I was going to change the entire vibe. I had to talk about it though. It was only right.
“Any of ya’ll talked to Mook since we’ve been here?” I asked, starting it out with something casual.
I just wanted to pick their brains and see where each of them stood right now with him.
“I hit him up yesterday before the party. Really was just checking in, trying to see what he was doing, and really to let him know that he was about to miss out on a good party. He didn’t answer the phone though. I didn’t try reaching back out to him either,” Kendrick was the one to speak up first and let me know. After him, Bray and Diego let me know that they hadn’t spoken to Mook since we’ve been here. That’s when I went ahead and sighed, ran my hand down my face, prepared to let them in on this bullshit.
“A little over a month ago, Riot was at the warehouse. I had her tracking inventory. When I walked in, she started pulling out bags of coke, showing me the inconsistencies that she found in each of them. She put at least ten bags of coke on the table for me. All that shit came from the same batch. All got the same stamp on it and everything. All the weights were off though. Some of them, you could tell that the baggies were full, but thenyou had others that were light. It wasn’t dramatically light, but you could look at that shit and tell that the weight wasn’t adding up,” I started, and each of them had their eyes on me, waiting to see where I was headed with this.
“That was only her first week on the job, so when I asked her what she felt like the problem was, she didn’t want to tell me. I guess she didn’t want to look like a snitch in the business, and she also wasn’t trying to start up problems within the business, having everybody not liking her and shit. I started coming up with my own theories on what I felt like was going on. I wasn’t trying to point the finger at nobody though. Ya’ll know how I feel about having cameras in the inventory room back at the warehouse, but I had to put a couple in there because that’s how bad I wanted to get down to the root of the problem. This morning, I’m in the room chilling, and I get an alert on my phone, letting me know that it was motion detected in the inventory room back at the warehouse. Immediately, I was on high alert because nobody supposed to be in the warehouse today since shop is closed. Ya’ll not going to believe this shit man,” I said to them, picking my phone up from the table, going to the camera app, and I went for the video with Mook.
