“You trying to say I need to step my jewelry game up, Twin?” I joked as she reached into the box and unclasped the watch to put it on my wrist.

“No. I’m trying to say you spend money on everything but yourself even though you deserve to treat yourself and have other people treat you too.” She held her hand out for mine and I shoved my current watch off my wrist and into my pocket then let her clasp the one she’d gotten me in its place.

“Thank you.” I grabbed her face in both hands and kissed her mouth then her nose and forehead. “Thank you.”

“Do you feel appreciated?” She blinked up at me.

I licked my lips as I looked down at her. “Yeah. I feel appreciated.”

“Good.” She clapped her hands. “Do you want to do cake now or later?”

“We can do it now.”

“Okay.” She kissed my cheek then rushed into the crowd.

Her excitement was contagious. It was cute how happy she was to be doing this shit for me. Although gifts weren’t about the money when it came to me, mostly because I made more than a lot of people in my circle, it was sweet that she’d dug deep into her pockets to get me some shit she thought I deserved.

Myome got a microphone and had everyone sing happy birthday before revealing the huge cake she’d gotten me. I dabbed a little bit of the icing off and tapped it onto Myome’s nose. She grinned while she collected a little bit of icing from the rim of the cake plate, leaned in, and dabbed it right on my throat. Then she leaned in and kissed the same place softly before licking it up.

My dick immediately got hard.

I willed it down and decided to grab a drink.

Myome had planned this night and I intended to stay in this bitch till we got kicked out or I was too drunk to stand on myown. I got two shots and a beer and knocked them back before joining my people.

Dashawn had let his boys know about the party and they’d shown up to celebrate with me. Myome hadn’t met most of them so I made it my mission to show her off, introducing her to the dudes from my old block while I drank and rapped to the songs playing. One of the guys brought me a bag of weed and I immediately had Rome roll me one to smoke while I chilled.

It didn’t take long for the party to spiral into something less organized. We were all smoking, drinking, singing, and cursing. It felt authentic to who I was and how I’d grown up. A few famous people tapped me on the arm and told me happy birthday before they left, but an hour after my arrival I was in my zone, crossfaded and loving every second of having my sexy ass wife rub her body against mine while she danced in front of me.

Shit. This was the best birthday I’d had in my adult life. Easily.

By the time we stumbled out of the club, I was fucked up and it was already after three in the morning. I gave the DJ an extra couple of hundreds since he’d only been booked till two.

“What’s up? The party over or we getting breakfast?” I asked, an arm thrown around Myome.

“I can eat.” Rome shrugged. “Y’all can eat?” he asked the group.

“I’m going home to get my four hours of sleep before we have snatch up our babies,” Chandler said. “But I’ll call y’all later.” She hugged each of us and we dapped Lee before they headed out.

“I’m down for breakfast,” Charm offered.

“Us too,” Dashawn added.

“Let’s go then.” I pulled out my phone and ordered two iDrive’s since I was almost positive we were all fucked up and we headed to a twenty-four hour breakfast spot.

We got a big table and I sat on one side with Myome, Charm, and Rome while Dashawn, Hazel, and Alan sat on the other side. I threw an arm over the back of Myome’s chair and tried to act like I didn’t see Rome and Charm whispering at the end of the table.

We all ordered and spoke, joked, and laughed a little too loud for being in public. I threw all of our food on one ticket. It was the least I could do after they’d spent the night celebrating me. I gave our two waiters each a three hundred dollar tip then exhaled and leaned back in my seat.

“I need to get in the booth,” I announced.

Dashawn let his head fall forward and laughed. “You serious?”

“As fuck,” I confirmed. “I’ve got a beat in my head I think I could kill right now.”

I pushed back from the table and we all said our goodbyes, called our own rides, and headed out.

When we got home the sun was already up. I yawned as we fumbled inside and up the stairs to our bedroom, shedding clothes as we went.
