“We both know that marriage shit is fake, Drix.” She set a hand on my shoulder and I cringed when Myome stumbled slightly.

I grabbed Monica by the back of her neck and squeezed. Her hand fell from my shoulder and her whole body tensed.

“What part of ‘I’m married’ didn’t you understand?” I asked. “Keep your mothafuckin’ hands off me because if you fuck this up for my wife I’m going to do everything you tried to tell the world I did to you for real. You hear me?” I waited for her to nod. “Then get the fuck on.” I let go. “Now.”

Monica glanced at the stage briefly then turned and quickly walked off. I shook my head and exhaled while I focused on Radiant Reverie.

Myome didn’t have any more mishaps, and when she walked off stage, Allison had joined me. I was already holding her jacket open. That sixty something degree weather she wanted was a little lower and the women were wearing scantily clad outfits so I knew to have something on standby. She slipped her arms in and turned to face me. I zipped her up while Allison handed Charm and Retta their jackets.

Myome glared up at me with her arms crossed over her chest like her little ass was supposed to be intimidating.

“Do you want me to put hands on you?” Myome asked seriously.

“What?” I chuckled.

“You heard me. Do you want me to beat you and that bitch up?”

“What—”

“Don’t ask what bitch when you know I saw you with her, Berlin.”

Retta whistled and shook her head and Myome’s head snapped in her direction. If looks could kill, Retta’s ass would have been out of here.

“Let’s get out of the way. The next performers are hitting the stage,” Allison said quickly and clapped her hands. “We’ll meet up the day after tomorrow and talk about how the performance looked and what the reviews are saying, but honestly, I think you ladies did amazing.”

“Y’all did good,” I added.

“Thank you.” Charm bounced on her feet.

“We looked great, right?” Retta stuck her tongue out and danced a little.

“Yeah. Y’all killed that.” I gave them small smiles and Allison looked from me to Myome before nudging her head to the side and walking off.

Retta gave us one more look then followed her.

“You good, My-My?” Charm asked.

“She’s good. I got her,” I offered.

“I didn’t ask you. No offense.” She reached over and put a hand on her girl’s shoulder. “Are you good, Myome?” she repeated.

“Yeah. I’m good, girl. You can go.” She answered with her eyes still focused on me. Charm nodded.

“Okay. Call me if you need me.” She rubbed Myome’s shoulder and squeezed before following Retta and Allison.

As soon as she hit the corner, Myome backed out of my space and slapped the taste out of my mouth. I clenched my jaw, closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and opened them again.

“I’m not going to let you slap me too many more times, Twin,” I warned.

“You’re about to not have to worry about ever seeing me again let alone me slapping you, Drix.”

“Yeah, alright.” I gripped the front of her jacket and jerked her in again. “You’re not my girlfriend or some lil hoe I drop dick off in sometimes. You’re my wife. I come home to yo’ ass every night and wake up to you every morning. I’m not worried about any other women, especially that one.”

“You sure? Because she was all over you and it sure looked like Monica from where I was standing, Drix. The woman you dated and were in love with,” she clarified.

“I wouldn’t say all that,” I said simply. “We messed around but our actual relationship lasted one day, Yo. It’s not that deep, and if you could see well enough to see it was Monica, you should have been able to see me curve her ass.”

“What did she want, Drix?”
