Way too fucking good for me.

Even after our night together, she still seems so innocent. I don’t want the darkness in my world touching her. She should only know light, but I can’t seem to help myself.

“Siren,” I call out softly, not wanting to scare her.

She lifts her head and pins me with those hazel eyes. “What are you doing here?”

“Came to drop Cash off,” I lie, stepping inside the room. “And I wanted to know if you’d have dinner with me tonight.”

She slowly takes me in, from my worn leather boots and jeans to the leather cut that proclaims me the president of the RBMC.

“You want me to go to dinner with you?” she asks, her brow furrowing. She’s wearing a yellow dress today, one with a high neckline. She’s makeup-free, and her hair is braided behind her.

“Yes,” I state. I wonder if she has any idea that I’ve never asked a woman out on a date before. I’ve never had to. I should take her to our fancy steak restaurant. Wait, what if she’s a vegetarian?

She stands up and smooths down her dress. When she steps around her desk, it flows around her legs. “Chance, what are you doing?” she asks in a low tone. “I thought we agreed to pretend we never met.”

“I never agreed to that.”

“Well, it’s not up to you.” She turns me around and pushes me out of her classroom. “Now get out of here before my students see you.”

“Just one dinner? I’ll take you out on my bike and have you home in two hours.”

She pauses with her fingers still on the back of my cut. “Why are you pushing this? You know it’s not a good idea.”

“You can tell me all about it over steak,” I test.

When she doesn’t argue, I’m guessing she does eat meat.

“I don’t think so. I’m serious, Chance. Do not show up here,” she whisper-yells.

Turning around to face her, I gently cup her cheek and wink. “I promise, Siren. But I will be seeing you tonight.”

She shakes her head. “You’re unbelievable, you know that?”

“Pick you up at seven.”

“No.” She frowns, sighing. “I’m not sleeping with you. You know that, right? Why don’t you stop wasting your time and go fuck one of your other women?”

Man, this woman holds a grudge.

“Got no other women who are mine. I can barely handle you as it is.”

The club women belong to RBMC, not that I’m going to mention that in this conversation.

“I’m not your?—”

“See you tonight, beautiful.”

With that, I leave the school with a smile on my face.

MACKENZIE

“So could I take you out for dinner sometime?” Seth asks, smiling hopefully at me. What is it with men today? Seth has been trying to flirt with me since I arrived at the school, but I’ve given him zero indication that I’m interested. Today, he’s apparently decided to just go for it and ask me out.

“I’m so sorry, I don’t?—”
