Cash pulls out his phone and hands it to her so she can enter her number.
“Be safe,” she calls out to him. “And use protection!”
“Unlike us last night,” I remind her, kissing her neck. “And I can’t wait to be inside you and bare again tonight.”
“Chance!” she moans softly.
“Come on, let me feed you cheesecake in bed.”
She stands up and sighs. “Yeah, definitely the best day ever.”

MACKENZIE
Two Weeks Later
“How’s the hottie biker doing?” Tegan asks, sitting down on my desk and wiggling her eyebrows at me. Things with Chance have been amazing over the last two weeks. We’ve been spending every night together, sometimes he comes to mine, or I’ll go to the clubhouse. We’ve both stopped fighting the connection we have, and I don’t remember ever being happier. He doesn’t come to the school, since we’re keeping our relationship on the down-low for now.
“Good.” I grin, closing the folder on my desk and staring up at her. “Really good, actually. He’s so… attentive. He doesn’t miss anything, you know? Like, I don’t have to tell him things. He pays attention, and he listens to whatever I say. He’s nothing like my ex, Jesse, that’s for sure.”
“And the women at the club?” she presses.
“I mean, it’s not ideal. But there’s really only one who is a bitch to me. The others are growing on me,” I admit. I haven’t seen any of the women come onto Chance in front of me, but I don’t know what happens behind closed doors when I’m not there.
I’m choosing to trust Chance until he shows me otherwise. I know I might end up hurt, but I guess that’s just a chance I have to take. He might have women willing to do anything, but I’m a catch, too, and if he can’t give me what I need, then I’d rather know sooner than later.
Chance has become more protective since the Bloody Scorpion MC showed up. Cash follows me home after school, or sometimes there’s a prospect around. Once, I saw Lust sitting there watching me. I can only imagine how Chance’s VP feels being put on babysitting duty.
Speaking of. “Do you know Lust? You were making some personal comments that night we went to the bar.”
Her blue eyes narrow. “He used to date a friend of mine. He cheated on her, and she ended up moving away because she couldn’t take seeing him around with all of his women. Let’s just say she told me a few things about the MC, which is why I’m telling you just be careful.”
“I will,” I promise, although I know that I’m in deeper with Chance than I ever planned on being.
My plan?
To hold on for the ride and hope I don’t fall off.
I’m walking to the staff room for lunch when Everett blocks my path. He gives me a slow once-over that makes me feel sick. “My dad wasn’t happy that I got suspended just because I made a few jokes with you.”
“It was more than a few jokes, Everett. What you said was inappropriate, but that’s over now, and we can start with a fresh slate. If you need any help with your English assignments, you can send me an email,” I say, keeping my voice even. I don’t want to let him know that he intimidates me in any way, but there’s something about him that leaves me on edge. I go to step around him, and he lets me, but not before saying, “Be careful, Miss Masters. Wouldn’t want one of the Bloody Scorpions to get you.”
His words play in my head until I get back to the clubhouse that evening. With Zeek riding in behind me, I lock my car and step inside. I’m almost to the kitchen when I hear two women talking.
“It’s not going to last. She’s not a president’s old-lady material. He won’t claim her. She wouldn’t be able to handle it anyway.”
Gia.
“I don’t know, they seem pretty happy to me,” Sassy replies as I round the corner and let myself be seen.
“I don’t know why you’re so obsessed with me, Gia. Surely, you have something better to talk about?” I snap, having had enough of her shit.
She stands up and puts her hands on her hips. “You think you’re so much fucking better than us, don’t you? Meanwhile, you’re the one getting my sloppy seconds every night.”
“Is there anyone in town you haven’t fucked? Maybe you should send me that short list, and next time I’ll make sure they haven’t touched you first,” I reply, seeing red. She is such a bitch, and I don’t say anything about her. I stay out of her way as much as I can, and maybe that’s been a mistake, because now she thinks that I’m weak.
But I’m not.
