“Not yet. Should I keep going?”

“Only if you’re going to let me lay down.”

I chuckled as I felt the trembling in her legs, satisfied that she was thoroughly fucked and ready for a good night’s sleep.

“Just let me finish looking for trackers.”

I made quick work of running my fingers over the rest of her body, doing my best to keep the exam clinical, but it was damn hard.

“Nothing,” I said as I finished up.

“What? But you said?—”

“I know. I should have found something. There’s nothing in your hairline like I’d expect, and I can’t find a damn thing under your skin. No scars or anything.”

“And you?”

I held my arms wide, waiting for her to go over every inch of me. Unlike what I did to her, there was nothing sexual about her exam. She concentrated like she was taking exams, and every touch was purely for the sake of research.

Not that she didn’t smirk when she got to my groin and saw how hard I was.

“You’re clean,” she sighed. “I don’t see a thing.”

“There’s something you missed,” I pointed out.

“Yeah, but I think it’s better to keep you wanting more. If I give you everything you want right now, what will keep you coming back?” she asked, giving my lip a quick nip before sliding her hand over my abs and heading into the bedroom.

My eyes rolled back in my head as I chased after her. There was no way she was going to bed anytime soon.

KRISTA

Gettingup to pee sometime in the early morning, I tossed on Rob’s shirt and headed to the bathroom. He was dead to the world, laying on his stomach and snoring softly. I wished I could sleep like that right now, but my brain wouldn’t shut off.

This thing with Rob was new and interesting, but did it really stand a chance of becoming anything more? Somehow, I doubted it. He wasn’t from Montana, and he didn’t seem to like it all that much. And it wasn’t like he took me out on a date or anything.

The attraction was there, but it was all sex. Was that really what I wanted? Someone to drop in and fuck me when he had the chance? Because what else was there for us? He worked for a security company, and there wasn’t anything like that where I lived.

And it wasn’t like moving to Pennsylvania was an option. What would I do there? I only knew ranching, and from what I understood, he lived on some kind of compound.

I washed my hands and stared in the mirror at my reflection. I was so pathetic. Why was I even thinking about any of this? Because the sex was good? That wasn’t a real reason.

A scream shattered the silence and I raced out of the room, running down the short hall to the bedroom where Claire was staying. I flung open the door and?—

“Oh. My. God,” I murmured.

Claire was strapped to the bed. Like, full-on tied up, and Derek…

Storm whimpered behind me, laying his head down on the ground and covering his eyes with his paw.

I turned and slammed the door behind me, blushing from my head to my toes at what I had just seen. Rushing down the hall, I went to the kitchen and made some coffee. That was normal. I needed normal right now.

That…that was…

Hell, I didn’t know what that was. I mean, she’d told me she liked to be rescued, that Derek was Superman, but I never thought…

Storm whimpered as he followed me. He seemed just as freaked out as I was. And if it weren’t for the fact that he was a wild wolf, I might try to console him, but I didn’t exactly trust that he wouldn’t bite my hand off.
