And when she was, he couldn’t seem to keep his hands off of her.

It wasn’t just about the sex, though that part of what they shared was fantastic. More than that, it was real. Meaningful. Loving.

Just like Scarlett.

She was gorgeous and smart. Funny and a total smart ass, at times. But he needed that. He needed her. Someone who wasn’t afraid to call him on his shit.

Scarlett and Rose were a lot alike in that regard. But Olly didn’t look at Rose and crave. He didn’t count down the minutes until he saw her again.

Not like he did with her sister.

A smile formed on his lips as he thought about the two women. His heart felt a bit heavy knowing Rose had been placed in federal protective custody. But that was only to keep her safe, and only until that fucker Vic Manning was finally caught.

Washington State. That was the last place he’d been supposedly spotted. And while that was worlds away from where they were, knowing Rose was under Noah and Wade’s protection went a long damn way to easing the worry he’d first felt when they’d gotten word Manning had escaped.

But that was all in the FBI’s hands, now. As for Olly…his biggest worry was making sure he didn’t overcook the chops later. And that he didn’t scare off the best thing to ever happen to him.

You have to tell her how you feel.

Yes, he did. And he would. Just as soon as they finished what he prayed would be a delicious, romantic, home cooked meal.

He went to the sink and began washing up the dishes. He’d already spent some time picking up his place. As soon as Scarlett left with Izzy for lunch, he’d dived right in putting his plan into motion.

Clean. Prep. Clean. Shower. Cook.

So far, he’d checked off the first two things on his list. Well, almost. Just a couple more dishes and?—

His phone began to ring. Wiping his hands dry on a nearby dish towel, he picked it up from the counter and looked at the screen.

With a grin, he tapped the screen and put the phone to his hear. “Hey, Grady. What’s up?”

“You need to get to the hospital.”

He froze, his stomach filling with dread. “Why? What’s wrong?”

“The girls were in a wreck. The doctor’s with Izzy now. She’s okay…she’s banged up pretty good and she’s got a concussion, but other than that?—”

“And Scarlett?” he cut the man off.

Because the second he knew his sister was okay, the only other thing on his mind was the woman he’d fallen in love with.

“Just get here, man. As fast as you?—”

“Damn it, Grady, what about Scarlett? Is he okay? Was she hurt, too?”

“Olly—”

“Swear to Christ, if you don’t answer me right the fuck now?—”

“We don’t know where she is.”

Olly’s entire world stopped. It just…stopped. The blood in his veins turned to ice, and his heart felt as though it were being ripped apart piece by torturous piece.

“What do you mean, you can’t find her?”

“Look, I’ll explain everything when you get here, but…Izzy said a man in a truck ran them off the road. She was knocked unconscious when the car flipped, but she remembers waking up to hearing…”

Grady’s deep voice trailed off, and Olly knew whatever he wasn’t saying…it couldn’t be good.
