Six days later...

“I could get used to this.” Emma laid naked in Trace’s arms.

The past week had been a whirlwind of activity. The one she and Trace had just finished, the absolute best of all.

Since coming home from Mexico, Trace had been staying with her, in her apartment. Somehow, in the middle of all the craziness, he’d made arrangements for the space to be professionally cleaned and the damage from her intruder’s bullets repaired.

Though the memories still remained, all signs of the attack that had taken place in her home had been erased.

Upon returning home, Emma had been checked over thoroughly by every kind of doctor imaginable. All at Trace’s insistence.

“So.” Emma snuggled in close.

“I’m scheduled to start training with Charlie team in Richmond next week. And I was wondering if you’d—”

Emma’s phone began to ring, the tone specifically set for when her brother called.

“It’s Sean.” She grabbed her phone from the nightstand and tapped the screen to answer it. “Hey, Sean. What’s up?”
