He kept the kiss soft. Gentle. A light feathering as he took his time savoring the precious moment only a first kiss could bring.

Except this was already better than any kiss he’d ever experienced. And the best part was, they were just getting started.

Jason parted his lips, letting the tip of his tongue run along the seam of her soft and welcoming mouth. He sent up a silent prayer of thanks when Sophie opened up for him, eagerly inviting him in.

Their tongues met and passion ignited. A low grunt escaped from deep inside his chest when he got his first real taste, and he tilted their heads to allow him to get even closer.

Not close enough. It’ll never be close enough.

His cock screamed to be let loose. It ached and throbbed, so full and demanding, it was damn near painful.

Sophie let out a tiny moan, the sound making his rock-solid dick jump behind his zipper. And when she clutched the lapels of his jacket between her small fists, Jason damn near lost all control.

He turned their bodies, pressing her back against her home’s door, and his front against hers. On their own accord, his hips thrust forward, his body desperately searching for the release it knew this woman would bring.

Afraid he’d gone too far, Jason thought about pulling away. But at the exact same moment he began to move, Sophie rubbed her lower belly against his obvious erection.

She moaned again, damn near bringing him to his breaking point.

“Soph...” He panted against her mouth.

“Yeah?”

“We should stop.”

“Why on earth would we do that?”

“Because, sweetheart.” A low chuckle rolled through him as he used Herculean effort to pull back enough to look her in the eye. “If we don’t stop now, we’ll end up giving your neighbors a show they won’t soon forget. And I don’t intend to share you with anyone.”

As if she’d just remembered where they were, Sophie blinked and slowly straightened her spine. “I suppose you’re right.” She thought for a moment and then, “I’d invite you in for a drink, but I’d just end up kissing you again.”

And that’s a problem because...

Because Jason didn’t want this to turn into a one-night stand. No, he wanted more with this woman.

Much,muchmore.

“And if I came inside, I wouldn’t want to stop at just kissing.” He tucked a lock of hair behind her ear like before and smiled. “We’ll get there, Soph. Just not tonight.”

Relief mixed with the arousal swirling in the browns of her eyes. “Thanks for understanding.”

He understood perfectly.

She wanted him, too. That was obvious the moment their lips first touched. But like him, she didn’t want to rush whatever was happening between them.

Another burst of wind flew past, and though she was still flushed from their intimate moment, Jason saw the shiver racing down her spine.

Ignoring his protesting dick, he tipped his chin toward her door. “Go on. Before you catch a cold. And be sure to lock up.”

A wide smile deepened her cute as fuck dimples. “Yes, Dad.”

“Sorry.” He ran a hand over his beard. “Occupational hazard.”

“It’s okay.” She placed a palm over his racing heart. “It’s nice to know you care.”

In a moment of uncharacteristic admission, Jason told her, “I do care, Soph. A lot.”

More than I’ve cared about anyone in a very long time.
