“Thanks.”

Picking up my glass, I took a sip. Taking the straw between my fingers, I slowly moved it in a circular motion, watching as the olives bounced around the bottom of the glass. My eyes caught the gaze of a man in the mirror behind the bar. He was sexy in a way I’d never noticed in a man before—six feet three, with tanned skin, short dark hair, blue eyes, and a masculine jawline that sported a neatly trimmed five o’clock shadow. He was either an attorney or an accountant. I’d bet money he was an attorney.

“Hi. I’m Parker.” He extended his hand.

“Paige. Not interested.” I dismissed his hand entirely.

“Okay, then.” He grabbed his drink and walked away.

With a slight turn of my head, I watched him walk over to a table with two other couples. I also noticed his taut, round ass in the Dockers he wore. He was incredibly handsome, and he had my full attention.

“Hey.” I gestured to the bartender. “Send a shot of whiskey over to that guy who was just up here.”

“You mean, Parker?” he asked.

“Yeah.”

He poured a shot of whiskey and sent it over to the table. Parker looked at me, our eyes locked, and I gestured with my head for him to come back to the bar. He stood from his chair and walked over with a smile.

“I’ll only do this if you do one with me,” he said, leaning against the bar, his face turned toward me.

“You heard the man, bartender,” I said.

The bartender poured a shot of whiskey and slid the glass to me. Grabbing it, I held it up to Parker. He raised his glass and tapped it against mine. We both threw back the whiskey and set our glasses down.

“Let’s do another,” I said.

“I thought you weren’t interested.” A smirk crossed his lips.

“Perhaps I was a little hasty.” I threw back another shot. “How about we get out of here and go back to your place?”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah. Why not? We’re two adults, right?” I pulled some cash from my pocket and threw it on the bar.

Parker picked it up and handed it back to me.

“Your drinks are on me,” he said. “And, yes. We are adults.” A smile crossed his lips.

“Let’s go. I’ll follow you to your place.”

We left the bar, and I headed to my bike.

“Hold on a second,” Parker said. “What the fuck?” He walked over and ran his hand across my bike. “This is yours?”

“Yeah.”

“Who are you?” A smirk crossed his lips.

“The woman you’re going to get lucky with. Let’s go.” I put on my helmet and climbed onto my bike.

I followed Parker to his beach house in the Pacific Palisades.

“Nice house,” I said.

“Thanks.” He smiled. “Can I get you a drink?”

“No.” I walked over and smashed my mouth against his. I didn’t want a drink or to make small talk. All I wanted was him. “Lights stay off.”
