I drive into her again and again and again. And she fuckinglovesit. She moans with pleasure, thrusting her hips up to meet me, stroke for stroke, until her head tips back and she says my name—drawn out and wrecked—her inner walls clamping onto my cock like a vice.

“Fuuuuuuck,” I moan, following right behind her, my entire body seizing up with the force of my orgasm.

We stay like that for a while. Me on top of her, gasping for air as we wait for the trembling to stop.

Chapter Six

Jenny

Iwakeupbeforehe does, delightfully sore and completely satiated. We spent the night making love, and I’ll never, ever be the same.

I’ve just met him, but he’s not only saved my life… he’s opened my eyes to a world of pleasure I never knew existed.

I turn my head slightly to watch him sleep. He has an arm thrown over his head, the other resting across my waist possessively.

And God help me, I never want him to let me go.

But even as I stare at my grumpy mountain man Marine, my heart swelling with more love and affection than I’d ever havethought possible, my brain drifts to thoughts about work. Emails that need to be answered. Motions that need to be filed. Clients that need to be contacted.

Important things that need to be dealt with, because I love my job and I want to make a difference in the world.

With a sigh, I get out of bed quietly and pull on underwear and a sweater before stepping into the main room. Roxy raises her head from the chair she’s claimed, stretching her paws in front of her lazily.

“Hey, girl,” I say softly. “Need to go out?”

At those words, she dashes to the door.

Chuckling, I walk over to let her out. “I guess that’s ayes.”

I stand in the backyard, shivering in my underwear, as I wait for her to do her business. Behind me, I hear movement.

"You're up early," he says.

"Yeah," I say. "I have work."

He nods. “I guess Roxy and I should leave you to it?”

“Okay,” I say, even as my heart sinks. Because despite having to work, I don’t want him to leave. Not now. Not ever.

He wraps his arms around me, pressing his face into my hair. “When can we see you again?”

My heart roars to life in my chest. “You want to see me again?”

He stiffens behind me, backing away. “What?”

I turn to look at him. “Wasn’t this a one-night stand?”

He scowls. “Not for me, it wasn’t.”

I breathe a sigh of relief. "It wasn’t for me, either,” I say. “But this is all so… fast. I’m a planner. I think things through, make a plan, and stick to it. I’ve never been in this position before.”

He smirks. “I’m pretty sure you were in just about every position last night.”

Heat floods my face, and he chuckles.

“I’m a simple guy, Jenny.” He steps forward, cupping my face in his hands. “I want what I want… and what I want isyou.”

My stupid lawyer brain kicks into high gear, looking for every loophole. He wants me... but for how long? Is there an expiration date? Or is this… love?“What exactly are you saying?”
