“That sounds more realistic.”

“Then, it’s settled.” Stone paused and his voice became muffled as he covered his speaker and spoke to someone else. “Look. I’ve gotta go if I’m going to get this battery in, y’all.”

“Okay. Love you,” Jiselle said softly.

“Love you too, baby A’ight, Kiano. I’ll hit you.”

“Yes, sir.”

“I guess I’ll let you go too so you can finish and get out of there sooner.”

“Alright but if you need anything, don’t hesitate to call back or text me, alright?”

“Okay. I think I’m just going to go deep clean my apartment or cam or something until one of you gets off.”

“Yeah. Keep busy and I’ll be done as soon as I can.”

“Promise?”

“Promise.”

“Alright. Have a good meeting.”

“Thank you, sweetheart.”

“Okay. Love you. Bye.”

I grinned. “Love you. Bye.”

I sat with the phone to my ear until Jiselle hung up then got back to my computer. I’d already pulled Jiselle’s info up so I looked into her bank account and was actually proud of the amount of money she had saved. She was taking in nearly four hundred thousand dollars a year, paid her rent and car insurance in six month increments, and had paid her car off the year after she’d gotten it, but still.

I looked from my account to Jiselle’s account. Then I matched her balance and slipped the money directly into her account. I called my bank to make sure the transaction wasn’t flagged and a hold wasn’t placed.

If Jiselle wanted to quit the bar and cam work, I wanted her to know she could at any point. If she was worried about finances, she didn’t need to be.

I liked her doing cam work because she liked it and it made her feel sexy. I never wanted her to do something she didn’t want to do because she felt like she had to. She didn’t need to do anything she didn’t want to do.

I jumped back into work. The meeting Lisa had been struggling to reschedule had agreed to sit in after-hours, which was fine with me considering I hadn’t done much work all day.

I jumped on the call, put it on speaker, and walked around my office tossing the stress ball my mother had left on my shelfjust to have something to do. After all the driving I’d done, I was tired of being seated.

I did a double take when my phone beeped and walked over to check the Caller ID. It was Jiselle and I was sure it was about the deposit.

Me:

In a meeting. I’ll call you back.

I lifted my desk to a comfortable standing height and lit my second computer monitor to take notes and work on their issues as they spoke.

They went for an hour and a half before I lowered my desk and sat. I pushed my chair back and kicked my feet onto my desk. I’d made adjustments to the most crucial pieces of their complaint but there were still miniscule issues they wanted me to adjust, which I noted.

My eyebrow lifted and my eyes darted to my office door when it creaked open. Then a smile took over my face when I saw it wasn’t Lisa. It was Jiselle.

I muted my call immediately and held a hand out to her.

“Hey, sweetheart.”

“Hey, sugar daddy,” she teased.
