“I guess so,” I deadpanned.
We finished the dishes then headed back to the bedroom.
Jiselle was already knocked out, lying on her side with one of her hands tucked beneath her face. She looked beautiful.
“You can have her this time.” Stone nudged his head toward the opposite side of the bed and I hopped in.
Stone walked over and ran his hand along Jiselle’s side until she blinked herself awake.
“Roll over to Kiano, baby.”
She didn’t even say anything. She rolled right into me. She slid closer, draped a leg over mine, and snuggled her head against my chest. Stone hit the lights then climbed in behind her. He kissed the side of her head before settling in. He tried to set a hand on her waist but it landed on my hand and drifted down. I let him wrap his arm around her and grip her leg.
Honestly, even with the three of us smashed into Selle’s little bed, my entire body relaxed and I was fast asleep in seconds.
When I woke up, I immediately knew I was late but didn’t care all that much because my face was buried into the top ofSelle’s head and she was sound asleep. I lay awake and held her for a little longer. Then I kissed the side of her head softly and climbed up.
I felt my way out of the room to the kitchen. I dug through a few cabinets and drawers until I had everything I needed to put on a pot of coffee and stood in the dark while it brewed. Once it finished, I poured three mugs and added a shit ton of cream and sugar to one. Jiselle liked her coffee syrup-like.
“What are you doing?” Stone asked.
I looked over as he entered the kitchen, wiping one of his eyes and yawning.
“Making coffee.” I gestured to the mugs. “How do you like it?”
“I’ll hook it up.”
“Alright.”
He walked over and took the mug. “Thanks.”
“Welcome.”
I grabbed my mug, had my first slow sip, and nodded in appreciation. Coffee would carry me through the rest of my day.
“Should we wake Jiselle?” I asked.
“Hell fucking no. There’s a reason she told us to just lock the door when we left.”
“That makes sense.” I nodded.
We stood in the kitchen in silence while we drank coffee together. Afterwards, I set the coffee I’d made for Jiselle in her fridge and we quietly slid our clothes on, locked the door behind us, and headed out.
I went straight home to put on clothing suitable for the office then headed there. Thankfully I didn’t have anything scheduled too early so I was able to catch up on emails and a bit of work before my first video call.
After the meeting ended, I found myself digging deeper into Stone. I found the mechanic shop where he worked and his highschool information. He’d been one hell of a football player from his freshman year until he quit. He made good grades, dated a few women, got ticketed with weed. Nothing unusual. I dove deeper into his father then his siblings, and by the time I was satisfied with what I’d read, most of the day was gone. I’d fallen into wanting to know everything about him.
We had very different upbringings, so it made sense that he was a little rough around the edges but I liked that.
For a brief, flickering moment I thought about the chances of the three of us having more nights like the one we’d already shared.
I checked Jiselle’s cam site and saw she hadn’t been online all day. Then I checked the cameras in her penthouse and paused when I saw the camera in her room was offline. I went back to the footage from last night and saw the moment Stone had found the camera and pocketed it. It was offline now.
I changed the status of my email to out of office and hopped up.
“I’m heading out,” I told my assistant. “Hold my calls unless they’re from my parents, Drix, or a company having an actual data breach. Anything that needs to be negotiated can be done through email.”
“Yes, sir.”
