“Love me.”

“With everything I am.”

He rocked back, almost severing our connection, then surged forward. In and out, he maintained a steady pace. Sliding a hand behind my knee, he pushed my leg toward my head, opening me farther as he hit the end of me with the next powerful snap of his hips.

We groaned together, oblivious to anything except our combined pleasure.

“You need to come, Sunshine.” His thumb found my clit between us, rubbing tight circles while his thrusts became stronger. “I’m not going to last much longer.”

Sweat dripped off his forehead as he pounded into me over and over again, never slowing, never relenting. There was no warning before a thunderous orgasm rocked me tothe core. My walls spasmed mercilessly around his length, trying to drag him over the edge with me.

“Fuck, yes,” he grunted.

His rhythm became erratic. He slammed into me once, twice, then planted himself to the root on the third. The feel of his cock twitching inside me set off tiny orgasmic shock waves of pleasure. They made my head spin, though my racing heart might have been a contributing factor as well. It beat so fast there was surely a lack of oxygen to my brain.

I couldn’t help the whimper when Duncan withdrew from my body. He froze above me, raising a brow.

“Sore?”

“A little.”

“I’ll make sure you're ready for me next time.” He bent, kissing the end of my nose. “Let me get you cleaned up.”

My eyelids drooped as I listened to his bare feet slap against the floor. Next, I heard the click of a light switch being turned on in the en suite bathroom, then the sound of running water. I must’ve drifted off for a second because the next thing I knew, the mattress dipped. I flinched, eyes flying wide, when a warm washcloth was pressed to my center.

“Wha––”

“Easy.”

Heat crawled up my neck to my cheeks. “You don’t have to do that.”

“Hush. It’s time to let someone take care of you for a change.”

“You’re still bossy.”

“That’ll never change, especially when it comes to your comfort or safety.”

Lowering my voice, I whispered, “I kinda love that about you.”

“Kinda love?”

Bending over, he grazed my nipple with his teeth. I hissed, grabbing ahold of his shoulders. Knowing Duncan, he wouldn’t stop until he got the answer he was looking for. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if I wanted him to stop, but he deserved to hear how I felt.

“Not kinda,” I confessed. “I all the way love you.”

“You’re too sore for round two, so I’ll just have to hold you all night.”

“Such a hardship.”

He snorted a laugh, then got up to toss the washcloth in the hamper. With the light from the bathroom, I was able to thoroughly appreciate his retreating form. Every inch of him was a chiseled work of art. Thick, muscular thighs. A tight behind that didn’t jiggle when he walked. My gaze drifted up the length of his body, then zeroed in on one area.

“Oh my God,” I shrieked, flying out of bed, making it to him in only a few steps. My fingers hovered over the marred flesh on his back, desperately wanting to touch him, yet afraid to cause him pain. “How did this happen?”

“It doesn’t hurt. Not any more.” He turned and took my hand, leading me back across the room. “I want you in my arms when I tell you.”

True to his word, he didn’t say anything else until we were settled under the covers, with him on his back and me curled into his side with my head resting over his heart.

“After the accident, I woke up to find you unconscious. You were bleeding and I knew we needed help fast. I climbed through the broken windshield and made it about ten steps when the front of the car caught fire. There wasn’t time to do anything except get you out. I kicked out the remainder of the glass in the windshield, then eased you outof your seat belt. You didn’t make a sound. Not a groan of pain, not a whimper. If I hadn’t been able to feel your breath against my neck, I would’ve thought…”
