Love. Hope. No… Not hope… Triumph.
He was mine. I was his.
The need that had brewed but remained hidden for far too many years burst to the surface. Flurries of want tugged through me as he did exactly what he’d said in his text at the lingerie store. He consumed me, tasting every inch, and once the fabric was as wet and hot as my insides, he simply tore it from my body.
Fully naked and overcome with passion, I writhed under his ministrations.
As his fingers pirouetted over my stomach, my body quaked. When his tongue slid over my hip, along my thigh, and, without warning, pressed into my heat, I cried out. I gasped as the want racing through me flashed to a peak. But before I could take the final plunge over the edge, he pulled back, chin resting on my thigh. I hissed in displeasure, and his deep laugh filled the room, vibrating through me.
“Open your eyes, Maisey. Open your eyes, and tell me this is what you want—me taking you with my mouth before I take you with my body.”
I obeyed, my eyes settling on the lava burning in his.
“Say it, darlin’.”
“I want you. Inside me, over me, consuming me.”
“Then don’t you dare close those beautiful greens. Watch as I finally get to do what I’ve wanted to for an entire week—a fucking lifetime—and give you the best high of your life.”
Then, he proceeded to do just that. My hand twisted in his hair, and I chanted his name at the crest, sighing his name as I went over the wall. The nip he placed on my tight bud as I started to come down sent me over again. I’d never experienced such intense pleasure as what rolled through every muscle, every nerve with him. It shook me from the inside out, leaving me breathless.
I’d barely filled my lungs before he’d shifted to take my mouth with his and proceeded to rip the air away again. I happily handed it over, easily prepared to give every ounce of oxygen I possessed if it meant feeling the flames he incited licking along my skin once more.
My nails trailed along his back, and my legsbanded his waist.
“Take me over the edge again, Beckett. Take all of me so I can feel all of you.” He pulled away instead of doing what I said, and I moaned. “Where are you going?”
He rolled off the bed. “Condom. Goddamn condom is somewhere in my bag.”
I grabbed his wrist and yanked. The unexpected movement had him falling back onto the bed. He barely had time to stop himself from landing fully on me with a chuckle.
“I’m on birth control,” I told him. “And I’m clean. Have you been tested?”
It took a moment for him to register what I was saying, what I was offering. But this was the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I didn’t want even the thinnest layer between us. I didn’t want anything between us ever again.
“I’ve been tested.” His voice dropped another notch. “And I haven’t been with anyone…not for months.”
I wrapped my legs around his waist again, and the full weight of him settled on me, chests and hips and cores aligning. His stare bored into me. “You’re sure?”
My hand found the hard length of him, shifting so it landed right at my entrance.
“Show me the pleasure I’ve been missing, Beckett.”
He plunged, and I gasped. I was so very, very full. Not just in body, but in mind and heart and soul. The homecoming was real and true and lasting. It was why none of the other times with any other guy had felt right, because this was the only place I belonged. And those thoughts only spiked the desire quivering through me. The flame that needed to be quenched. My hips slammed into him, and instead of speeding up, instead of driving and thrusting, he stilled.
My eyes found his again.
“Damn it, darlin’,” he cussed. “I’m not going fast. I’m taking my time. I’m going to savor every shift and slide and sip.”
He’d said he wanted me to beg, and I did just that as he proceeded to drive me nearly mad. His fevered hands and talented mouth dragged out the impending wave inch by inch. My need spiked to new heights. My breathing grew ragged. Every vein was taut and ready to crest, and yet he still dangled and danced and parlayed.
When I grabbed his hips and tried to increase the pace of our thrusts, he snagged my wrists and held them above my head with a growl. “Not yet. Not yet.”
“Beckett,” I pled.
“Yes, baby?” he asked, his lips lifting smugly.
I moaned and writhed and dug my heels into his backside.
