I scoot next to him again and drape my arm over his shoulders. “I was eager to get back to you.”
He blinks at me with his big teal eyes. “So…um…I was surprised to get your text. Not bad surprised! Good surprised, actually. But Tallis said…”
Yeah, there’s no sense beating about the bush. I should lay my cards on the table now so he’s not sitting here feeling anxious.
“Tallis told you our arrangement was strictly for forty-eight hours,” I supply. Oliver nods, so I continue. “That was the plan, yes. And it’s always what we’ve done in the past whenever we’ve played with a sub. Not reached out afterward, I mean. We’ve never actually played with anyone for that long before.”
It’s clear he takes a second to process that fact, but he glosses over it. “So, um…did I leave something at your place?” he asks.
I can’t help but laugh at his sweet innocence. “No, nothing like that, baby boy. The truth is, you’re special. And not just because Tallis has never surprised me with a little treat like that before. It’s also not because we usually only play for an evening, or maybe the morning after as well.” It feels important to hammer home to him that he was unique for us before I ever texted for this meet-up.
“But the ad said Tallis was looking for someone to stay the whole weekend?” he reminds me with a little frown.
I nod. “He was hoping to find someone amazing to make the experience especially memorable. That’s my husband, always aiming high.” I lift my free hand, gently touching Oliver’s chin aswe gaze into each other’s eyes. “If he hadn’t met you, he said he wasn’t going to settle for anyone else.”
Oliver swallows and I can see a whirlwind of thoughts going on behind those beautiful eyes. “He told me he didn’t interview any other subs,” he says as quietly as he can over the music. “But what if I’d said no? He must have had a back-up plan for your birthday.”
I chuckle. “I’m sure he would have designed an extremely kinky weekend for the two of us regardless. Thankfully, he didn’t have to. Because we found you, Oliver.” I take a breath, fortifying myself to lay my heart on the line for him. “And we’re not ready to let you go.”
Slowly, his eyes get impossibly wider and he gasps. “You…what? You want to do another scene?” he asks eagerly.
I purse my lips, hoping that’s not all he wants. Because he does sound excited. However, we want so much more than that.
“We’d like to date you, baby boy,” I tell him gently. “We’d like you to be our boyfriend. So, yes. That would include a lot more sexy times.” I waggle my eyebrows at him and that gets me an adorably shy laugh. “But we want you in our everyday lives as well. We’d want to take you out—together and separately, like this—and we’d want you to stay over whenever you like.”
Honestly, even though he hasn’t said it, I know Tallis would love nothing more than to move this young man in to live with us and make our home his as well. But we’re both aware that Oliver’s graduation is in a few weeks and he’s obviously uncertain about what he’s doing next. We don’t want to pressure him into making a big decision. I have to admit, though, the concept sounds heavenly to me.
That’s the moment a server appears with our wings and fries, so I reluctantly withdraw my arm and tone down the intensity of the PDA. He sets down the dishes, warning us to be careful because they’re really hot, then he gets us some plates, cutleryand napkins. That gives Oliver a couple of minutes to think at quite a pivotal moment in our conversation.
When the guy goes back to the bar, I watch Oliver for a beat as he just stares at the food. “What are you thinking, baby boy?” I prompt.
He shakes himself and looks back at me with a stunned expression. “I barely wrapped my head around the idea that Tallis picked me in the first place or that you’d want me as much as you did. But now you’re saying…you really want to keep seeing me?”
“We really do, sweetheart,” I assure him. But I know what’s coming next before he even opens his mouth.
“Why?”he blurts out, shaking his head. “You guys are both amazing. Like hot, rich, successful, amazing grown-ups. And did I mention hot? You could date anyone at all. I’m a broke nobody who has no clue what he’s doing with his life.”
I sigh and scoot back over to wrap my arm around him again. “Tallis and I don’t like when you talk about yourself like that, Oliver. But that’s something we can all work on together. That is, if you’re interested in seeing us again.”
All he’s commented so far has been about his disbelief that we like him as much as we do. But I want to hear what his feelings are toward us.
He swallows as he looks at me, his expression almost fearful. “I’d love that so much,” he whispers. If I wasn’t watching his face intently, I might not have caught the words over the music. “I seriously didn’t want to leave on Sunday because I thought I’d never see you guys again. Are you really telling me that could be possible?”
My heart explodes with happiness and relief. “Seeing as that’s what we all want, it sounds to me like that’s not just possible. It’s inevitable.” I grin at him. “We want you in our lives, little treat. And before you ask why you again, it’s becauseyou’re gorgeous, kind, funny, spicy, you like the same kinks we do, you bring out and fulfill desires that Tallis and I can’t give each other, and did I mentiongorgeous?”I wink at him and he giggles. He doesn’t say anything for a second, but I can feel the pride radiating off him.
“I still don’t really get it,” he admits bashfully. “But there’s no way I’m going to walk away just because of that.” He squirms and peeks up at me through his blond lashes. “I’d love to try dating you both. Although…I’ve never really had a serious boyfriend. Just some flings at school and college. How would it work?”
I shrug easily. “We’ve never dated anyone else as a couple before. I guess we’ll just work it all out together.”
A laugh barks out of him and he shakes his head. “Neither of you have dated anyone else since you met each other?” he correctly summarizes.
“Nope,” I say, popping the ‘P’ sound then grinning.
Oliver huffs and fiddles with his fingers in his lap, looking down as he pulls at them. “I still reckon you’re both a little crazy for thinking I’m worth all this fuss. But that’s incredibly flattering. Thank you.”
My poor baby boy. He’s tying himself up in knots trying to look for the catch when there isn’t one.
“You’re welcome, sweetheart,” I say covering his hands with one of mine and giving them a squeeze. He glances back up at me and I smile. “You most certainly are worth all this fuss. Tallis and I have barely stopped talking about you since you left. Seeing as we’ve never had a boyfriend before, we’ve been walking through what that might look like for us. Do you want to hear our thoughts?”
