Here I am, standing in front of Carlie, and oddly enough, it’s like I’m truly seeing her for the first time. Her fiery red hair seems to glow in the soft light streaming through the window and each strand tells a story of the wild, passionate woman I’ve come to know.

Everything about her is breathtaking.

But today, there’s something different in her eyes—a depth, or maybe a raw honesty that makes my heart race and my body react instantly.

There’s a bit of that wild woman from Nocté shining through but it’s mixed with the soft vulnerability I’ve come to know and love—and that’s uniquely Carlie.

“I don’t know what it is about you. I’ve never felt like this before,” I confess, my voice barely above a whisper. The words feel heavy yet liberating, carrying all the unspoken emotions I’ve been holding back for a while now.

Carlie steps closer, her eyes finding mine. “Me too, Adam. It’s like all the masks are gone—all the games put to rest. I can’t believe we’re here, to be honest.”

“Me either,” I admit, standing on the threshold of Carlie’s bedroom, my heart pounding like it’s trying to break free.

A sly grin plays on her lips—it’s the same dimpled grin that hooked me the first time I saw her—but tonight, there’s a spark in her eyes that tells me this is going to be different.

“So, Mr. Mystery,” Carlie teases, her voice a playful melody, “any thoughts on what we should do next?”

Her words are like a siren’s call, and I can’t help but move towards her. There’s an electricity in the air, a current that seems to pull me in her direction.

Carlie is a force of nature, and right now, she’s got me completely under her spell.

“Iwasthinking,” I start, trying to match her wit, “but I got distracted by a certain redhead, wondering whatshehas in mind.”

Carlie laughs, and the sound is like music. She steps closer, her hand reaching out to trace a line down my arm.

“Oh, I have a few ideas,” she says, her voice dropping to a whisper that sends shivers down my spine.

This is new territory for us.

Carlie has always been playful, always been the one to crack a joke or lighten the mood. But today, there’s an intensity to her playfulness, a determination that’s both exhilarating and a little intimidating.

That night at Nocté, I had no reference, nothing to compare her to.

But now …

She leans in, her breath warm against my ear. “Tonight, Adam, I want to show you just how much fun we can have when we’re both on the same page.”

And just like that, she’s leading me to the bed, her movements confident and fluid.

I wonder if she even realizes it.

Every movement this woman makes sends my pulse racing as much as it sends blood to other extremities. My cock strains against my zipper and all I can think about is …

How did I get this lucky?

After everything that happened with Jillian, I never thought I’d find this kind of intimacy—this kind of love. I thought I’d go to Nocté for a night of release, maybe a bit of intrigue, and that would be that.

Never in a million years did I anticipate falling …

Carlie stops moving at the edge of her bed, her eyes holding mine for a moment before she stands on her tiptoes to press her lips to mine.

I sigh into her kiss, settling into the energy of this beautiful redhead and the amazing woman she is.

She runs her hands down the front of my chest, causing shivers to break out across my entire body. I don’t know how her touch—even something as benign as that—can make me want her so badly.

All too quickly, she pulls away and the absence of her lips feels like a blow.

“Why are you—?” I begin, opening my eyes.
