When the rehearsal dinner was finally over, we said our goodbyes and Harper all but sprinted to the car. I chuckled to myself and followed along behind her at a much slower pace. The moment I closed the car door, she was in my lap and reaching for my belt.

“What are you doing, baby?” I asked as if I didn’t know.

“So help me, Chase, if you don’t put your cock in me right now, I will make sure you regret it,” she growled.

“No need for threats, baby. I would have fucked you in the restaurant. All you had to do was ask. Oh, fuck,” I groaned as she engulfed me with her tight heat.

My hands landed on her hips, intending to guide her movements, but she swatted my hands away. “Not this time, big guy. You just sit there and take what I’m giving you.”

I grinned. “Show me what ya got, baby.”

And she fucking did.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Harper

Ember arranged to have a team of hairstylists and makeup artists on site the day of the wedding. She had them set up in a vacant building on the farm property. We rotated through hair, makeup, and nails in sets of two. Some of the girls had gotten their nails done the weekend before at the spa, but I wasn’t one of them. It was a miracle if my manicures lasted an entire day; I had no idea how some of these girls managed to keep them for a week.

I was a little nervous because I didn’t know most of the girls very well. I wasn’t opposed to making new friends; it just wasn’t in my nature to initiate conversation with someone I didn’t know. Lucky for me, I was paired up with Keegan who had no problem opening up to someone new.

She was a year younger than me and had recently moved to Croftridge to work at Ember’s horse farm. Her step-father was a successful horse breeder and trainer in Kentucky, and she knew her way around a barn. Ember practically hired her on the spot.

“So, you work with my brother?” I asked.

“Yes, but don’t believe anything you’ve heard him say about me,” she replied.

“He’s never said anything to me about you…” I trailed off, hoping she would fill in the gaps.

“We don’t always get along. The ranches in Arizona are nothing like the ranches in Kentucky. We tend to butt heads over the best way to do things.”

I giggled. “Duke always thinks he knows what’s best. Don’t let him walk all over you.”

She grinned. “I don’t.”

We continued chatting as we moved from station to station. We had our nails done first, followed by makeup, then hair. I had been enjoying myself up until my stylist swept my hair up and gasped, which was followed by another gasp from Keegan. I didn’t have long to figure out what to say, so I went with instinct and told the truth. Shrugging, I said, “I like my sex with a little kink in it. Do you think you can cover it with makeup or should we leave my hair down?”

The stylist blinked at me and then seemed to gather her composure. “Let me grab one of the makeup girls and get her opinion.”

The moment she was gone, Keegan looked me up and down and shook her head. “It’s always the quiet ones.”

We both burst into a fit of laughter, which drew the attention of a few other girls, particularly Reese. “What’s so funny over there?”

Keegan answered, “It’s about your big kinky brother. You don’t want to know.”

“Truth,” Reese replied immediately and turned back to her conversation with Ember.

When all was said and done, the finger-shaped bruises behind my ears that extended slightly down my neck were successfully concealed with a combination of makeup and wispy curls flowing down from my updo. I was impressed, but I was still going to kick Chase’s ass for it.

By the time it was my turn to walk down the aisle, my anger had cooled significantly. I waited patiently for the coordinator to give me the cue to go. The wedding was taking place outside by the lake on the clubhouse property, and we were lined up inside the tent set up for the reception. When I exited the tent and rounded the corner, I looked up, and my steps faltered. Chase was standing beside Duke who was beside Dash at the altar, and he looked amazing dressed in a tuxedo. A harsh whisper from Reese to quit gawking at her brother and walk brought me out of my lust induced fog. I closed my gaping mouth as the crowd chuckled at my expense, but I didn’t care one bit because Chase was smiling from ear to ear, his eyes locked on me.

I couldn’t tell you one thing about the wedding ceremony. My attention was solely focused on the man standing only a few feet away from me. My eyes didn’t leave his for one second while our friends professed their love for one another. Chase nodded once and then started toward me. That was when it registered to me that the wedding was over. I stepped toward Chase and slipped my arm through his, walking by his side as he led me down the aisle. That moment was and would always be one of the happiest of my life. I don’t know what happened between us during the ceremony, but I returned down the aisle feeling an even deeper connection to Chase. Judging by the look in his eyes, he was feeling the same.

Upon exiting the ceremony, we were immediately whisked away by the photographers for pictures. Thankfully, they made quick work of it and got us to the reception within half an hour. We were called into the tent one by one and introduced before the bride and groom were announced. Then, we were led to the table set up for the wedding party which had groomsman on one side and bridesmaids on the other. It felt like a forced separation again.

Finally, the DJ called for the first dance of the bride and groom, followed by the father/daughter dance and the mother/son dance. Since Dash’s mother wasn’t present, he danced with Annabelle, which lasted about 30 seconds before Phoenix cut in. At that point, the DJ invited the rest of the guests to the dance floor. I met Chase in front of the table and released a sigh of content when I was in his arms on the dance floor.
