She stills, her breath catching.A moment passes before she whispers, "Okay."
We stay like that longer than necessary, but I don't mind.I like her weight, the slow rise and fall of her breathing. When I finally help her dress, I take my time, smoothing my hands down her arms.
She watches me, something unreadable in her expression. But when I pull her close one last time, she doesn't fight it.I place a soft kiss on her forehead, then take her hand in mine and walk her downstairs.I wait as she gets her stuff from her locker, and then I walk her to her car.
I hug her one last time."Drive safe, Skye," I murmur against her hair.
She nods, stepping back, but I can see the hesitation, the part of her that doesn't want to go.
Neither do I.
I watch, making sure she is safe as she gets in and as she drives away. Then I head back inside, still feeling the warmth of her against me.
I make a note to hire a car service for her from now on, so she doesn't have to drive after such an intense session like this.
As I go inside, Carter catches my eye.The grin on his face is unmistakable."You look like a man who's been wrecked."
I chuckle, shaking my head."Something like that.It was an intense night with a new sub."
Carter claps me on the shoulder."Good.Means she's worth it."
I don't reply.Instead, I just smile to myself and get ready to head home.Once I'm in my car, I check my phone and find a text from my sister waiting.
Megan:Call me when you're free.Need to talk.
I exhale slowly, rubbing my hand over my jaw.
Something tells me my night isn't over yet.
Chapter 5
Skye
Iwakeupfeelingdeliciouslysore, my body a map of last night's pleasure.Stretching languidly, I can still feel the phantom press of rope against my skin, the echo of Gage's hands and mouth upon me.
God, last night was...intense.Different.Better than anything I've experienced before.
Rolling over, I glance at my phone. It's already past noon, not surprising after how late I got home.Three missed texts, all from Gemma.
Gemma:How was last night???
Gemma:Hello???Details, please!
Gemma:Fine, be that way.Lunch tomorrow?
I smile despite myself, typing a quick response.
Me:Lunch tomorrow works.Can Summer come?
I'm not ready to talk about last night. Not yet.I need time to process what happened, what I felt. What I'm still feeling.
Rising from bed takes effort, my muscles protesting in ways that remind me of exactly what I did and what was done to me last night. In the bathroom mirror, I examine myself.A few faint marks to go with the ones from the ropes, nothing that won't fade by tomorrow.A slight bruise on my hip where Gage's fingers dug in as he…
Heat floods my cheeks at the memory, and I quickly turn on the shower, cranking it too hot. That's when Gemma texts back.
Gemma:Lunch at my dad's by the pool.
Me:I'll be there.
